If you were to construct a Utopia, what would it consist of? What would be the basis of your world - happiness? Justice? Order? Peace? What would be the laws? The social "caste" system? What lies and what truths would you tell your people to keep them "in line"?

I wrote a paper on this during my Senior year of high school. Looking back on it, my answer would remain the same.
Essentially, societies are constructed in order to provide that Utopia for it's people. However, the idea of a 'utopia' can never truly exist because a balance would be missing. Creating the 'perfect world' could also someone, or a group of people, at a disadvantage. Take the ideology of Heaven and Hell, for instance. In order for one to exist, the other has to as well. If everyone goes to Heaven, then how can Heaven be any better than the world we live in. Conversely, if everyone went to Hell, then there would be no point in believing in that ideology to begin with. Delving deeper into the topic, the founding fathers of America set out to create a perfect society, and although the U.S. has risen to be a global superpower in virtually every international arena imaginable, it still has a myriad of problems. Sorry for going out in left field. |

I remember doing a project like this when i was in 7th grade. Only it was for outer space.
