I'm interested in what others believe. I will ask a question on a specific subject and if you want, can post what you believe.

Do you believe that the gods that ruled in ancient times (e.g. Egypt, Greece, Romands etc.) are possibly extraterrestrials?

Psst. It's specific

And no. I don't believe in other "Gods" or aliens.

I wonder how you can misspell specific but correctly spell extraterrestrials. Mind-boggling.

By gods, do you mean like the Greek and Roman gods?

Those gods are just like the gods today - they were thought up of and believed by people. I guess that's the only way I can relate them to extra-terrestrials, since some people believe they're just figments of our imaginations. But to answer your question, no. I believe ETs are real, but gods are not.

I believe in God, but not necessarily religion, if that makes sense.

I also believe that ancient civilizations such as Greeks, Indians, and Egyptians, were smoking some really dank bud. XD.gif

Well there was a point where the "gods" did rule. Isn't it possible that this is actually true?

Well, now that you mentioned the Egyptians... I don't think they were extra-terrestrials. I think they were just regular people who thought too highly of themselves. And if there were any stories about them having magical powers and whatnot, it could have just been the writers bumping up their statuses.

I don't know if that made sense.

People get upset once somebody posts their opinion about what another member believes in.
Like if somebody starts criticizing another person.

So far, it's just a straightforward statement of our individual beliefs, so we'll be fine if we keep this up.

I always have believed, and probably always will believe, in aliens. I mean, how can we be the only intelligent living creatures? The universe is just so massive, it'd be a total waste if Earth is the only planet with living beings on it.

my boyfriend is terrified to go into corn fields. He says that crazy stuff like that happens and that people dissapear in them. Kindof sucks too since he lives right across from one.

Agreed with Joanne. It's completely arrogant to insist that we're the only living things in this INFINITE universe. How lopsided is your logic if you don't even give the idea of life on other planets a chance?

They did find glipses of water on mars, and astronauts have proven that there could be potential life on some of the planets. So in a way it makes sense no matter how ridiculous it may sound.

I suppose some of one's belief in "aliens" would depend on how they personally define the term. In a sense, since anything is possible, I believe that there may other intelligent life than what is here on Earth. I don't believe that it's going to be some frog like creature ready to probe us all in unwanted regions of our bodies, haha.

I'm not incrediablly informed about ancient gods, but from what my little mind does ponder... a lot of people in the modern world believe in God as a way to explain the unknown. The same thing goes for ancient gods. For example, Ra (the sun god) was believed to have been eaten by the sky god and reborn everyday (everyday is a new beginning, eh?). But without the science behind why the sun disappears at night they used religion as a way to describe these things. Our modern gods don't differ that much when it comes down to the basis of ancient and modern religion.

I agree with you. Taken from Contact, it would be an awful waste of space if we were the only one's in the universe and besides, how do you really explain the alien appearances throughout time?
