This pretty much makes her a whore, right? She's in the trade of giving sexual activities for money, no? Who cares if this is her "virginity" (which, imo, is overrated), it's pretty much sugar-coated prostitution. I don't understand why this isn't illegal on the basis that prostitution is illegal in nearly every state.

Kind of reminds me of Memoirs of a Geisha (read the book; movie doesn't do it justice)... they bid for Sayuri's virginity and the highest bidder got to... do her lol. Of course, it was an old, rich, wrinkly guy. Except that was cultural and legal.... and this just seems wrong and whoreish. I don't think it's noble, rather, it's just to create buzz. She doesn't look like she's a virgin anyway

So it's wrong in our eyes/society but not "wrong" in their culture-- there are still those who practice it or feel it's necesarry to their culture; even if it is a dangerous and cruel procedure. I think the only good part about this is that she's asserting her rights to do what she wishes with herself. I'm not calling her a whore, I'm just saying I personally wouldn't be happy if my daughter did something like that, for a good cause or not. But of course, it's up to her and it's her decision, so I'm not arguing with it.
