What is the "best" gift you've ever received from a family member, friend, significant other, or complete stranger?
Interpret "best" as you will, whether it be the gift with the most sentimental value, the largest monetary value, the most practicality, or the "best" whichever else way you prefer. |

On the morning of my 16th birthday, I woke up and saw this piece of paper taped to the end of my bed telling me to go down the ladder(since i sleep on the top bunk). And as I climbed down i saw a bunch of little pieces of paper with arrows on them taped around the house directing me where to go. They said things like "go to the bathroom, wash your hands >:O, go through the kitchen, around the corner, etc...". And it leads me to the living room at my desk and I find a colorful card made by my little sister and it said "#1 sister, happy birthday! I couldn't do that phone thing again(since the year before she left me a voicemail on my phone singing happy birthday), but at least I made you a card. Hope you have the bestest best birthday. --Priscilla" Apparently she put together that whole surprise right before she left for school in the morning. I was feeling so shitty that whole week and the moment i saw that I was so happy that I cried. I think that's the only time i've ever cried tears of joy.

from my parents - my car & my laptop (both were so unexpected)
![]() from the boy - a white gold ring with amethyst stones for our anniversary & this iDance Wall-e as a random surprise gift. he's gotten me more expensive things but those two have the most meaning behind them. ![]() |

A proposal... another ring... and the best friendship/partnership/relationship ever (:
The best gift anyone has ever received would have to be life, though. Without that, nobody would get to experience or receive what other great gifts life has to offer. |

the gift of compassion.
i was having the shittiest week ever. a lot of bad, major events happened during that time & i just broke down. my guy friend listened to me ramble about my problems when he didn't have to. he was really comforting and gave me good advice too. at the end, he said "okay. will you do something for me right now? just SMILE!" - it made me smile :] then he hugged me, like those really genuine hugs. and he told me that i could call him up anytime if i needed another ramble haha. it was just really uplifting to know that somebody cared about me. there's no better gift than having somebody be there for you when you need it the most. truly, the smallest gesture makes the biggest difference! okay, i'm done being a cheeseball face now. |

That's unbelievably cute and nice of your sister! I wish I had a sister (or brother) that would do something like that for me! xD I did a similar thing for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loved it. :D The best gift... Hm. Well, I'll go with what popped into my head while I read this. About 4 years ago, my boyfriend at that time would give me a rose for each month we were together on our "month-saries". The first rose surprised me SO much! Attached to the stems were little notes/sayings/lyrics, etc. He did that every single month we were together. At the end of the relationship, I was walking to my door the day after I had broken up with him, and on the doorstep were 27 roses from him. The gift itself was simple, it wasn't too extravagant, but it was absolutely perfect in my eyes. |

AWWW THAT'S SO CUUUTE. :D Haha, all my friends chipped in and bought me the newest iPod nano. I did NOT expect it at all. I've never had an iPod before, but they know I love music. We were out of school, I didn't have a party, but my best friend brought a giant box over and it was empty D: [disappointed me] But then later, she came in with a little bag and then OMG AN IPOD NANO. Rofl, I was so shocked. They also had one of those giangantic huge cards, and everyone who signed were people who chipped in. Haha they told me that people had to pay to sign. :O I thought it was so sweet, none of my friends ever went that far for a birthday. |
