black hair to green, help |

im using photoshop cs2
how can color black hair into green. im trying to make it a bit real. not so fake. any tutorials? |

hair is a tad more difficult.
since your using photoshop, you can follow the steps from that tutorial schizo posted but since hair has the stands pretty much all over the place a great deal of erasing is involved. a good tip is to try different size brushes when getting around those tricky strands and soft edge brushes on a low opacity is a major help as well. |

that tutorial works best in light objects DARK colors and specially BLACK is almost impossible to change color.. only the edges are colorful.. but it was good.

Your best bet might be attempting to use selective coloring, but anyways.

^x2 Lighten the black hair and then do the colourizing. You just have to do an extra step. Select the hair first, then I like to just adjust Curves (Ctrl + M) upwards so it's lighter. Then colourize.
Don't lighten too much though or it'll look fake. And DON'T adjust lightness by doing Brightness/Contrast. |
