Anyone know of any good discount sites to get books? Or does anyone have the Vistas 3rd edition for Spanish one that they don't want anymore? This stupid thing is going to be more than any of my other books.

amazon, half.com?

Tuition was around $3000 for the semester, which looking at what other people put is really not bad...but god it sucks that I have to pay it.

I've been to those. This book is insanely expensive. There really isn't much of a price break.

Did you check all the bookstores around campus? I don't know how many schools are like this, but we have a ton that are worth checking for used books. But if you can't find them cheaper online used, chances are you won't find them off either.

Well the thing is I have to get a packages. It is the textbook, workbook, lab manual, answer key, and DVD. Some of the things online only have the textbook used, and some have the entire package except the workbooks have been written in.

We only have one bookstore on campus. I'm just going to the JC in town.

Amazon is expensive? Even the used ones? I usually go to Border's or Barnes and Noble if I'm at a last resort.

ecampus.com or campusi.com -_-

i buy used $200+ books for like $40 sometimes. or i buy from upper classmen who are eager to let go of their books for like 80% off original price lol. freshmen year was the only year i got screwed over. since then, i've learned to get awesome deals.

My school told us directly in the syllabus that we CANNOT photocopy are textbooks. Well at least for my chemistry class, which has the most books. 4 books each ranging 70-100 I don't even know why we need so many books blink.gif

The rest of my books have to be bought new, and not returnable because they're exclusive to the university/class so the teacher kind of expects you to buy the book, and he/she gets a little royalty money from you buying the book too. mellow.gif

Um, only if the teacher wrote the book. I highly doubt all your teachers wrote all their own boosk.

I've gotten all of my books; after first semester of freshman year I no longer bought books out of the bookstore...every edition I needed was found online for a lot cheaper than the bookstore; the most I pay now is 70 bucks; the least I've paid was 25 for a brand new Microeconomics book...I usually always throw in the extra 10 or 20 for expedited shipping...I sell all my general & elective books back to people & keep my major books for future reference...I no longer complain about book prices

Spent $240, but being the optimist I am, it would've been $500 from the bookstore happy.gif

Apparently, a lot of people are downloading their textbooks for free.

Textbook piracy.

facebook has a pretty good book-exchange thing (generally for people going to the same college as you). I got some pretty good deals there, i.e. $40 for a $131 bio text.

My books go on my fees.
The average price here is 70-100$.
And our books are all 8-14 years old :D.
So old, that the spanish in the spanish book is outdated,
Because LL and CH aren't letters anymore.
