Small Businesses are not affected (directly) by capital gains tax. Short Term capital gains tax is taxed as regular income). Long Term Capital Gains tax does not affect most of the 100 million people invested in stocks beacuse most are in 401k's which are protected.

Given mccains and obamas tax cuts mccain will only cut taxes slightly for the middle class 38-66k. by slightly i mean 300 bucks. 1000 from obama. upper class 66-112k (median is 45k in america iirc) 1000 for mccain 1300 for obama. 112-161k mccain has 2600 obama 2200. If you make over 3 mil then obama increases taxes by 700k while mccain lowers them by 270k. for anyone who wishes to know and is in realitiy.

Public Financing limits the amount of money you can spend and the money you can use out of your pocket. The government matches the amount made in which this case, is small. Jesse Ventura raised $300,000 to run for governer. Oh yeah you have to raise money to get money from public financing. public financing only matches each dollar with a lot of restrictions as to how much you can recieve from a single person, party, etc. If a non billionaire independent were to get public fainancing that amount would still be tiny compared to what obama, clinton and mccain have raised. Ross perot used 65 million of his own money had a huge following and was at one point leading the polls. then he ends up with 0 electoral votes and 3rd in the popular vote. (although his drop out-back in may have caused a big effect)
