In most of your relationships that you've decided to end, do you usually drag it out or do you end it right when you decide?
Or do you try to get THEM to break up with you? I get scared and drag it out. There's never a right time for breaking up, but I always feel like there could be better times. T_T |

If i wanna break up with somebody. I think it over first and make sure about my decision and jst end it. Cos you dont want to lead somebody on and you don't feel the same way....it gets messy

i make sure that it's not a spurofthemomentimpissedatyou ordeal, so it's okay to 'drag it out' for a little bit to make sure that you feel the same way after a couple of days. it may feel like the longest couple of days, but if those feelings are the same after that period of time, then it's definitely something to look into.
then see if it's something that you guys can FIX (ex: like you don't like it when he/she ____). if it's something that can be fixed, i would casually bring it up in a conversation & see if it changes from there. if the reason for the breakup is due to emotional detachment, then it's not really something "fixable". feelings change; that's how it is. in that case, the best thing to do is to be straight up with that person and break up. it's unfair to both of you to continue in a relationship when you are unhappy & you are also leading the other person on. don't go on pretending that everything is okay & sit it out. honestly, it's the worst for the other person when the time does come around cause it's such an unexpected shock. trust me, it's a major blow to be taken by surprise. but then again, my ex did go date somebody less than two weeks after we broke up. perhaps you won't be so senseless ![]() |

Most of my past relationships I just ended it on the dot. I wasn't extremely close with them, and most of them had a problem that just drove the relationship to end and if I've tried fixing it and it's their end of the stick thats lacking, then well I just don't care anymore to wait around.
The relationship I'm in currently, I guess I wouldn't do anything, I would try fixing the problem before anything and I probably wouldn't be the one to break it off unless something ridiculous happened like he cheated on me or something. |

I tend to drag it because I'm always scared of serious conversations like breaking up.
I just don't want to do it. |

Breaking up with people is LAME, especially if it's a really serious relationship.
I've only broken up with one person but we had been together for almost 3 years and it was the most serious relationship I'd ever been in. Things started going down hill and I told him the whole time that I was steadily becoming unhappy, I told him he was changing, that I didn't feel loved, what he needed to do to help, and he didn't do anything. I tried to talk to him but he'd never talk back, so I just broke up with him. I cried the whole time I did it and for weeks afterwards, it was so hard. But, I'm glad now that I did it then rather than letting in drag on, I would hate to ruin all the good memories just because the end of our relationship was so bad. |
