Anyone else have problems with theirs?
Mine is an absolute slacker. Our school of 450 students have received their schedules, they're all messed up. Mine says I have English 12 (Even though I finished it in the summer to get it out of the way) and no Math 11, that I failed and I need to take to graduate.

I phoned him because it said to phone your councilor if you need to make an appointment to fix your schedule. He just told me "You're not suppose to phone me you're suppose to phone the secretary"
"I'm sorry just it said in the newsletter that.."
"try that bye"
Hangs up in mid-sentence on me. blink.gif blink.gif

Anyone else have problematic councilors?

Well, even if you are assigned your counselor you can still go to any of them for help with your schedule. It's high school, you need to learn how to put your foot down. You should be able to talk to pretty much anyone in the office about your schedule. When I was in high school, you would have to go to the guidance office and sign up for a time to talk to your counselor. Maybe you should try to schedule a time and give him/her another chance.

I got 4,000+ students at my school, and the few councilors there are just don't have time for individual attention, ha ha.

Mine is new...
I talked to her over the summer when I scheduled my college class and we fixed my schedule then..
When I got it the first day it was the original one with all 7 classes..I was pissed..

Then when I tried to get it fixed because there was no way i was staying there for 8 hours another one wouldn't answer my question..
She just kept repeating herself and I finally rolled my eyes and walked away.

There were so many mess ups on everyone's schedules..they were really disorganized this year. First time I've had a problem.

I want my old one back :[

Tell your parents, have them gently remind the principal that certain resources that are supposed to be made available to you are not being made available and if they just don't have the staff to support the students, perhaps the school board should be made aware of the issue.

/\ agreed
tell your parents. they will definetly help you out

i know my school they always switch around classes, mine just got switched (altough school has not started for me yet) its not the first time

they also say that you only need to share with someone 1 time and your done

in middle school they said that too, i had locker buddies all three years
and now i have it again my 11 grade year coming up (i already had one in 9th)

like i know its not a big deal but i hated it so much! i always get my stuff stolen or the person is a complete pig!

i want my own locker!!

Oh my god, if my counselor hanged up on me in mid sentence I would be in the principals office throwing the biggest bitch fit he's ever seen.

I never liked counselors, I don't feel like they even want to help you.

We get a lot of errors in scheduling too. So totally stupid, but my counselor is extremely nice. It goes by last names, so compared to my friends', she was nice. I had to see her to switch my class, and she kept bribing the people to let me in their free class (it was 11th and 12th graders only, but since I had 2 periods I needed to switch since I already taken it, I asked if I could), and they let me after like a long 10 min convo on the phone. LMAO. I was next to her, partially listening.
Anddddddd, mm, yeah. :D
She was also gonna let me switch my 8th period even though I'm not SUPPOSED to, just because I don't like it (even if I have a valid reason for it; I didnt request the class at all!), but she said I could if I want since I was such a sweetheart LOL.

hm. I never really try to go to them. I did in middle school because i was having drama issues and some of my "friends" snitched on me and the consuler only made it worse.

So does mine. Ive atleast had to make some change every year since about 6th grade.
Especially since my mom wanted me and my sister to have the same teachers and such to make homework easier.
After 8th or freshman year she just gave up

My counselor's secretary is racist...or sexist...or both.

She treated me like I was retarded and the last time I went in she was FLIRTING with some student and ignored me for like 10 minutes.

I hate my counselors. I've had problems with my schedule since 9th grade. Most of the time, my mom had to come in and help me change it, which sometimes didnt even happen. Though this year I learned a better way. I just emailed the counselor and acted like I was my mom. Then I went in and bitched like hell till it got changed. shifty.gif

My councillor pulled me out of class to talk to me in his office about how it is AWFUL that I was getting 2 C+'s... Doesn't he have worse people to talk to? And he talks so fast that you can't even understand what he is saying. And he always trys to make jokes but you can never understand them and then you feel awkward so you just laugh to be polite.
