I've been debating on whether or not to switch to contacts. 'Cos, you know, I wanna wear cool sunglasses and shit. Soooo...

Contacts or glasses?

Which one do you wear? What do you think of the two?

I been a contact user for 3+ years now. I been a glasses wearer for 10 years, and I hate it! It makes me look so geeky, and it didn't help in sports also. Contacts for sure.

^That's why they got different styles of glasses. My old ones made me look geekier, but as soon as I got the Oakley's I got a lot more compliments.

BOTH. Contacts for when you wanna wear sunglasses or just be your natural self without glasses. And glasses for when you're just kicking it at home, etc.

I would have done this by now if I had the extra money for contacts but I don't right now. I havn't for a while actually. But I know how you feel, I've been wanting to be able to wear sunglasses when I drive, my windshield gets crazy glare sometimes.

Oh of course I know that. But most of my life I wore those metal geeky rimmed glasses. By the time I got contacts, I got me some of those black rimmed glasses you have jerome, and I wear them at home late at night when I take my contacts off.

I wear contacts all the time now. Started wearing them regularly in grade 9. Definitely a lot easier than glasses and yay for awesome sunglasses!

I wear glasses because bugs sometimes fly into the lens and get squashed. You can see their innards all fresh and close-up.

I'm thinking about putting all the money that my relatives send me to stay away from them to good use and springing for a LASIK procedure in the hopes that there will be a horrible accident and I'll gain the ability to shoot death lasers from my eyeballs.

Since moving to the south, I only wear glasses. The wind and humidity just wrecks havoc on my eyes and allergies. :[

ive been using contacts for almost 3 years now and at first i was a bit iffy to on wether i should get them or not.
Im really glad though i did, they are a bit less of a hassle than glasses.
They dont get dirty as easily as glasses do and you dont have to worry about them falling off your face.
I Guess the only hassle is putting them on everyday and taking them off and switching them every month if you decide to use soft contacts

So i would go for it

Wait, why don't you just go for Lasik? My roommate had it done and has never had a problem since. And the whole thing lasted like, one day.

Also, I totally don't blame you about wanting cool sunglasses. I LIVE for sunglasses. The bigger the better!

i want contacts ): but i have glasses. i kind of like glasses though. i think i look kind of weird without glasses, i'm not used to it D: but it'd be nice to have contacts when i wanna do sports, wear sunglasses or if i just don't want to wear my glasses anymore.

I use contacts, but I'd recommend always carrying glasses as back-up, 'cause you never know. Contacts can be randomly irritating, or fly out, or whatever, at all the wrong times.

I remember I was photographing a football game for the school newspaper, and my left contact fell out from wind. Unfortunately (I had no glasses), my left eye is the one I shoot with, and I didn't really feel like squinting my left eye to shoot with my right, so moved my right contact to my left eye (they use the same power). lol

I've been wearing contacts since about 8th grade so about... 6 years. Of course at first you're going to get frustrated trying to put them on & taking them off but you'll get used to it. They're a lot easier to deal with. Of course contacts has its cons like taking them off everyday (unless you get those overnight ones), changing them every month, being careful with them as they rip easily, etc. I wear contacts most of the day but take them off when I get home. I currently use Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism. They're comfortable & you don't feel them. So yeah I hope my post has helped you, Carrie. _smile.gif

Yeah, other than the price, not all people are qualified for LASIK and I'd rather not run the risk of losing my sight completely or having other complications.

Contacts, definitely. I had metal-rimmed frames like Tung and I looked oober geeky too D:
And like Tung also said about the sports. I play tennis a lot, and glasses are just annoying to deal with.

I've been wearing them for about 2 years now. I don't think I'd be able to go back to wearing glasses.

I wear both. Although, a while ago I ran out of my contacts and I'm due for an eye exam. Glasses are a pain a lot of times, but I've worn them since gradeschool and I wouldn't feel like myself if I NEVER wore them. When I first got contacts I had to get used to the feeling of being able to look in all directions. The annoying thing about glasses is if you move your eyes too far to the side it starts to get blurry, lol.

^Or just the people who reply to this topic. (What would you say if you didn't have bad vision?)

I wear contacts. I've never had any problems with contacts and infections, but my sister and brother both have, so having backup glasses might be a good idea.

I've worn glasses since i was in the 5th grade o_o
and I got contacts in the 7th
I prefer contacts because..
one - they don't get in my way
two - i don't look like a total artard.
three - I've had the same pair of glasses the entire time..i need new ones xD
well...want acutally. the only problem with the ones i have now is that the anti-glare crap is chipping off [don't recommend paying the extra for it btw]
