Ouch. Did they at least give you some good pain meds? Looks like it's pudding and applesauce for you.

I'm pretty lucky, I've never had any dental work done besides cleanings. My brother went in and got 10 fillings one time, but he's tough and a few hours later he was back to normal.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled last year. It was HORRIBLE. Swollen, bleeding in the mouth, couldn't eat real food for days.

But advice: 4 Tylenol = 1 prescription strength Tylenol. If you're in pain, do it. If you're swollen, ice your face for 30 minutes at a time (the short periods of time make the swelling go down quicker). Tylenol also helps with swelling, again, if you're swollen. And use this to get your parents to let you eat copious amounts of ice cream/mashed potatoes/KFC macaroni and cheese =D

^ omg, getting my wisdom teeth pulled was the single most horrific medical experience of my life. I was SO f**kING SWOLLEN. But only on one side, so I looked like a deformed chipmunk.

Agree with everything Carrie said. Even if you wait it out though, swelling should go down naturally. I alternated between hot and cold packs too, which is what my dentist suggested. Dunno if it actually helped. Took me at least a whole month to get fully healed, and it was only 4 wisdom teeth.

^ I couldn't even eat ice cream because my teeth were too sensitive. I basically ate congee for 2 weeks. White congee. With no flavouring. I wanted to kill myself.

Luckily for me.. I only have 3 wisdom teeth in my lifetime.
They didn't grow out yet, but I saw them in my x-rays. & I immediately wanted the 3 out.
So they kind of dug into my gums to extract it. Took a long time to heal.

If it was 4, I don't think I could live to tell the tale. :(

I'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out soon. I'm so not looking forward to it, but I know I'll feel better in the end(they hurt as they are).

I just had three teeth cut out on monday.
I can't give you any advice other than to tough it out. It's SO lame. The worst part is not being able to chew, looking/sounding like you have your mouth stuffed full of marshmallows all the time, and not being comfortable no matter what.

All I've had to eat all week is pudding and soup.

ouch _unsure.gif trust me, i feel your pain. when i was 10 i had my tonsils removed. god, i feel so bad for you!!! drink a ton of cold water. they made me do that to numb the pain. try to eat ice cream. it didnt help me much, because i dont really care for ice cream. but i did manage some popsicles laugh.gif *cough* anywwwaayyyss, you can communicate by writing big on a piece of paper or something. i had to do that until i could talk again. take advantage of the time you have home and be on the computer all day, or whatever you like to do while at home =] be careful with jello. sorry to sound gross or something, but on the day of my surgery i got REALLY nauseous... i threw up jello and blood O_O so since then ive been scarred about jello and i just ate pudding. lmao.
