Website Help, Need help with a few things regarding the creation of a website Options

Hi Guys! Just started to put together my very first website.
I think I understand ftp enough, and I'm learning about php.

but my question is, how do I put different parts of my site on my page?

For example: I have my index page and it shows my layout and all that good stuff...

but on my navigation I have it linked to layouts.

How do i make that url for the layouts? I'm not talking about links lol. I'm talking about php i think.

ex. Poprocksugar.com/layouts.php

How do i do that on my ftp client? I mean where do i add the page?

By this do you mean how do you assemble all the components to make a fully functioning page.
When i started out i would just code everything in one html file which would obviously contain different content for the different pages but the same layout/links etc.
Now i use a php include code which places all my layout coding and menus onto every page.

I would recommend that you first get used to basic website management by having everything on one page as it shouldn't be too hard to manage if you just have a few pages. Move onto php once your adept with css and html.
