Yeah, that's true. Actually the idea started in cBC, everyone just started before I could finish the declaration post (which ended up being deleted anyway).

The point is, foreign language was used in the past (and quite liberally in those topics), and I didn't see them being scolded by any mods in them

You registered the same time that I did, previously with my other account. You were a moderator, then a mentor for a long enough time to know that there are rules about posting in foreign languages. And even if you didn't become active on the forums till later, as a former mod, you should be aware of the rules this site has.

Thomas, I honestly looked took the time to look through the Community Guidelines and the Terms of Service for a rule on foreign languages.

But I don't really see the point in lying to yourself when you use a translator, because I haven't met more than one person in my life that can speak 3 langauges, and she wasn't even fluent in all three. So why do you feel it's necessary to use a translator and then repost something, even the people that can read the langauge know some of these posts don't make that much sense.

The point of cB World Language Day is not necessarily to have knowledge on how to speak any given languages, but to raise cultural awareness throughout cB. To remind you guys that English isn't the only language, and America isn't the only culture. Believe it or not, sometimes diversity is taken for granted.

For cB World Language Day, speaking in different languages isn't to say "hey, look at how many different languages I can speak," but to be able to look different countries in the eye and say, "I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOUR CULTURE! OORAH!"

Look, everyone has already stated that there WAS a Foreign language rule. It was deleted when Suzzette deleted the topic. Easy enough to understand now? You probably read the rule at one time? How easily forgotten, huh?

REAL EYES REALIZE REAL LIES. You think I'm gonna believe everything you mods SAY? Just because all the mods might say "there was once a rule that no Jews, Asians, Blacks, homosexuals, or gypsies are allowed on cB," would you believe them, let alone follow their rule?

You mods blew this WAY out of proportion, and took the fun away from cB World Language Day. All I did was start ONE day of cultural awareness. Now it's become some huge debate with mods that run in circles trying to find a rule that doesn't exist.

First off, nobody has to tell me that I am a mod, because I already know that. Secondly, it is called a feedback topic for a reason, and if I want to, I will leave whatever type of opinion that I want. Thirdly, I will try and do everything in my power to make this site more enjoyable. I am tired of people walking around here with the same blind f**king eye, and trying to be pretentious and full of themselves. This site is indeed boring, and moderator or not, I will say that because that is how I feel. Since when does being a mod, mean that you have to be censored in your opinions?

My point is that something like this is sparking some interest among members, whether it be minimal or huge. Just because a certain few don't like it, doesn't mean that we should outright it. The same f**king topics are going to be made in English regardless, so what is the point? If you don't want to translate it, then don't...I'll f**king do it. As if some of you people are around here enough to know what is going on anyway.

Javonn shouldn't have to lie to himself and say cB is super special fun and awesome right now, 'cause it's not. cB's not all that at the moment. Javonn just realizes the truth, but is actually working hard towards improving cB and its activity. In fact, from what I can tell, he's done a lot more in that direction than you have.

Actually that isn't true at all. Posts made BY Suzzette were unable to be retrieved. This isn't the first time we've tried to find something and were unable to do so after the forum mutilation. We can't find it, so we can't reference it so for all intents and purposes, it doesn't exist at this point in time.

Having said that, can we all attempt to move forward a little? I think this has just become painful. lol

Let's all take a step back and try to work together. If posting in a foreign language is something the community truly wants, let's just think about it for a second. You are proposing that the use of foreign languages be allowed. Ok. Because I'm not wrong. lol I didn't remove anything, I didn't close anything and I remember there being a rule that cannot be found right now. I have been trying to come up with ways to make everyone happy in this, not just mods.

Maybe we can limit foreign languages without translation to those ethnic clubs, since it doesn't seem to be much of a problem there. Then everything outside would have to be translated.
