Twilight sucks. Really, really sucks. There are about a billion more people who have no idea what Twilight is that did when the 4th rolled around (I'm just going to assume that sentence makes sense because am too lazy to edit). And as many books as it sold, it still is nowhere near Harry Potter's league.

amen. Until she writes 7 books with as much popularity, I won't care.

Part of her reason for writing it, as a Mormon, was to "make abstinence sexy."
...ew

LOL a friend of mine who reads Twilight told me that Bella & Edward get married and Bella gets pregnant like, right away with a mutant half vampire, half human baby. My friend also told me that since Bella is still human she's forced to drink blood for the sake of the baby's survival. Uhm, wow. Ok, anyways...laugh.gif

I don't know, I haven't read the books but it seems like most of the girls are obsessing over the actor that plays him in the movie rather than the book.

But then again...I'M A HARRY POTTER LOVER.

Wait...WHAT? Why would you buy the books but not read them? Did you just watch the movies and then read the 6th one? 'Cause if so you're missing a whole lotta information.
Ah well I guess, to each their own. Some people are satisfied with less than the best.

I like The Harry Potter Movies, but the books are wayy long.

So you can't take the time and effort to read the books? The movies are fun to watch, but the books are much better.

You'd probably like HP more if you read the series starting from Sorcerer's Stone. Goblet of Fire is better than Half-Blood Prince, IMO. It's the last really good book in the series; the quality of the writing in the last two doesn't really compare to that of the first four.

seriously, f**k that. i have no right to judge because i haven't read the twilight books yet (but i am planning on it, really)-anyways, the twilight series might be in right now, as certain things are always in at certain times, but i highly doubt that this series can hold readers' attention for a decade like harry potter had.

Has this seriously been going on for ten years? Gah, I feel aged now.

I tried to read Harry Potter but it bored me to death. Twilight is not well written, but I somehow got sucked in. It is like brain candy.

LOTR is better than both.

I have a headache because I LOVE HARRY POTTER But Since I have just started to read Twilight I think Twilight is pretty amazing too!!! Harry Potter has always pwnd all to me but Twilight is starting to test that. But as said earlier in the forum with out Harry Potter Robert Pattinson (aka Cedric Diggory and Edward Cullen) probably wouldn't have gotten the role. But all in all Harry Potter will never truly be out.

Eleven actually. tongue.gif

LOTR was my LIFE back in the day(I'm totally freaking serious, I was OBSESSED). I have the cardboard cutouts of Legolas & the hobbits(not on display anymore) haha I still enjoy watching the movies but I don't really think about it all that much anymore.

Gah. That is just strange to think about. So I was like ten years old when it started. Though, I don't think it was all that popular until a few years later right?

LOTR all the way. Did you ever go on Entmoot? I didn't get all that obsessive over the movies, the books are the main thing for me.

Lol I tried reading the LOTR books but I couldn't. I just obsessed over the movies. All the actors are so hot. xD

And you're right, HP didn't start getting really popular until around the year 2000.

lol Oh goodness. I liked the movies, but the thing I obsessed over was how true they were to the books. tongue.gif

I remember when Harry Potter started getting popular there was all this controversy over how it was "evil" because it was about witchcraft. rolleyes.gif

Hey at least it will come out around my birthday in July of 2009! and Harry Potter has had enough fandom to cause universal to build a theme park arond it! See!!!
