I have better things to do with my time than to prove to someone the majority of who Oprah helps...sorry...you can look up the demographic information yourself if it matters so much to you; I just know blacks don't top that list & if you talk to some blacks yourself, because I can't prove that it's the majority either nor care to, they don't even like Oprah. I'm a rarity when it comes to a lot of things but anyway, of course race matters (it's pretty evident in this current election) & it will always matter to society as a whole, but I'm not concerned about what other people or any race thinks, I only account for me, myself & I & what I stand by & believe... My word, I do believe you're a hypocrite. You asked Fist to present facts to support her statement and yet you won't give any for your own claims... because you have better things to do? Like Fist didn't have better things to do than to give you want you want? And if you DO really, in truth, have better things to do, why are you on Createblog in the first place? This proves that you, and the rest of you, definitely don't care about what others think. It's not okay for someone to talk without evidentiary support for their facts, but it's totally okay for you to do it. LMAO... I take it back, you're a hypocrite and are in abundance. Sorry for the late reply, I don't visit these forums as often as I used to. |

Fu*k you She is kinda more than a talk show host. She has been pioneer in helping people around the world. whatever people. Try and start a freakin conversation in here and not be asian or a popular poster and you get no where I dont think anyone like Oprah is qualified to be president. Nor do I think anyone who is in the celebrity spotlight is qualified to be president. I dont like how as time has gone by, media has expanded and became warped and the reasons why we vote for a president have changed. When I look at a presidential nominee, I look at their political experience, what they have done in their career, where they are going, and what they stand for. Even suggesting Oprah as president is ridiculous. |

That's like having Steven Colbert run the country, although it would be funny, we'd probably all die.

"Do you recall what Clemenceau once said about war? ... He said war was too important to be left to the generals. When he said that, 50 years ago, he might have been right. But today, war is too important to be left to politicians." - Dr. Strangelove (1964) |

okay Okay. To elaborate, my point is that experience does not necessarily make one a good politician. Ted Stevens is the most experienced Republican Senator, and he's been indicted on charges of corruption. Strom Thurmond was an experienced, but corrupt, politician as well. In fact, I'd rather have someone who wasn't a lifelong politician in office. They might actually be more likely to resist the status quo in politics. |

No matter how many experienced politicians have made mistakes like that, Im sure there is an equal number of inexperienced politicians who have made the same mistakes. You listing off a few currupt politicians to me does nothing. Experience is an extremely important thing when running. |

what about when you have a system that doesn't work? a bunch of experience in a broken system isn't saying much to me at the moment.

And dont you think having experience in a system is better than having none at all? The US system isnt so bad where it would hurt the candidate to have experience in it. |

Because the more experience you have in politics the more you are aware of foreign policy, national issue and how the system works. Really? Are people like George Bush really more aware of foreign policy? Of domestic issues? Okay, maybe they're more aware of how "the system" works. But the political system is just a giant machine of corruption anyway, so I don't much mind if my political leaders know how it works or not. And yes, when corporations and special interest groups control the government, I think the system is broken. |

Yes, many of our reasons have changed I agree. However, look at her past. She would be a MUCH BETTER candidate than many that have ran for office. Nader for instance. Yes, she may not be the most applicable for office, but she would do much better than what we have now. |
