I know someone who's never heard of Bob Marley.

My boyfriend saw Michael Jackson's Thriller video a month ago for the first time. He also has no idea who Phil Collins is. He's not familiar with Daft Punk yet he LOVES Electronic music. HUM??

Most of my entourage are people who love old school music, pop, acoustic and such. A little bit on the hippy side. So it's quite shocking for me. A friend of my has never heard of The Doors. ><

What planet are they living on? ><

It would seem that your friends slept through the 20th century.

this is common amongst the simple folk of my high school. i was friends (not anything special) with a girl that LOo0o0oves music but she didn't know who bob marley was. i didn't expect her to know all the lyrics of all his songs. but, most people at least have heard of his name.

i had art class with another girl who accidentally called "the doors" "the windows." she corrected herself afterwards. so, i let that one slide. wink.gif

There was someone in the dreads thread that didn't know who Bob Marley was.

One of my friends had never heard either of Jefferson Airplane's most popular songs. And one had never heard of Jimi Hendrix ohmy.gif

My classmate didn't know who Michael Jackson was in grade 7... but then again, she was a MAJOR bookworm and introvert and was completely closed off from the outside world.

Yeah, my friend has never heard of the song, "No One" by Alicia Keys until I sang it to him. blink.gif I'm not sure if that counts.
