I dont think anyone like Oprah is qualified to be president. Nor do I think anyone who is in the celebrity spotlight is qualified to be president. I dont like how as time has gone by, media has expanded and became warped and the reasons why we vote for a president have changed.

When I look at a presidential nominee, I look at their political experience, what they have done in their career, where they are going, and what they stand for.

Even suggesting Oprah as president is ridiculous.

To elaborate, my point is that experience does not necessarily make one a good politician. Ted Stevens is the most experienced Republican Senator, and he's been indicted on charges of corruption. Strom Thurmond was an experienced, but corrupt, politician as well.

In fact, I'd rather have someone who wasn't a lifelong politician in office. They might actually be more likely to resist the status quo in politics.

No matter how many experienced politicians have made mistakes like that, Im sure there is an equal number of inexperienced politicians who have made the same mistakes. You listing off a few currupt politicians to me does nothing. Experience is an extremely important thing when running.

Really? Are people like George Bush really more aware of foreign policy? Of domestic issues?

Okay, maybe they're more aware of how "the system" works. But the political system is just a giant machine of corruption anyway, so I don't much mind if my political leaders know how it works or not.

And yes, when corporations and special interest groups control the government, I think the system is broken.

The Media's representation of her has been quite accurate. Just because the media warps many lives of celebrities.

Yes, many of our reasons have changed I agree. However, look at her past. She would be a MUCH BETTER candidate than many that have ran for office. Nader for instance. Yes, she may not be the most applicable for office, but she would do much better than what we have now.
