Schools are so gay with snow days.
I remember one time it was like at least 12 inches and we still had school, and then the next week it was like 3 inches and they canceled school. |

We get fire days.
But playing with smoke and ashes isn't as fun as playing with snow. |

Yeah I felt it. Which is weird...cuz I live like...3 minutes from Tijuana. Haha.
My dogs were barking for around...15-20 minutes before it & that's what woke me up. Then I turn on my laptop & everything starts shaking...my desk, TV,& my whole house. I'm like ":stubborn: Another earthquake?" I turned on the news & saw it was 5.7 magnitude, then they said that it's changed to 5.6, then again to 5.4 They also said that there were like...4 aftershocks with a magnitude of at least 3. asdfghjkl; |

I don't know if my friends lying to me or what, but he said there's another one that's going to be stronger? I don't know. I'm just really nervous, and I never got like... earthquake protection training? Ha, I don't know. We have tornado drills, but nobody f**king taught me how to defend myself against an earthquake, and the most logical thing I thought was to run to the bathroom? But there's glass panes everywhere, so anyone with suggestions?
And y'all felt it at Chino Hills? Shit. I don't know the scale, so I don't know how big it is, but Chino Hills is still some distance from here. Now, I'm just rambling on because I'm really scared and reallynervous. |

Man! My sister felt the earthquake and asked if I felt it. I missed it because I was jumping in the air to motivate my baby brother to dance around.

Basic earthquake safety techniques is to stand in a doorway. You can lie under the bed or a strong and stable desk, but a doorway is best. |

Doorway? So, should I open the front door? or leave it closed? Is it safer to be outside? What if the beds are upstairs? Is it safe to be upstairs? Sorry for the questions, I just want to be really really prepared.

^I don't think it matters what door way you get under as long as you're under one. Just go to the nearest one if you feel an aftershock. Or if you're closer to a big, strong table, just get underneath that.
edit Eva, Niko provided this link; it says the magnitude & all. Also I read somewhere (I forgot where) that there were already 3 small aftershocks. So maybe we don't have to worry so much. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recent.../ci14383980.php |

Wow. I'm so happy we don't have earthquakes here in Pennsylvania. Bringing up the snow conversation before..the way it works here is our school district adds in 3 snow days towards our regular school year. If we use more than 3 snow days, then we start adding onto the end of the year. If we don't use all 3, they give us extra vacation time around Easter or Memorial Day. A local bowling alley caught on fire last year right down the street from my school. We got a day off from school for that. Haha, once in a lifetime thing though. What is the worst an earthquake can get? |

Or if you're closer to a big, strong table, just get underneath that. Go to whatever is closest and strongest. I think it helps if the door is open so that it doesn't block you from standing right underneath the doorway. |

Nor will I "chill". It's my first time, and to have the f**king ground shake beneath my feet scared the f**k out of me. If I have to be thoroughly prepared for the next one, so be it. |
