I did some reading after the movie, and Batman was going to save Rachel, but it turns out that the Joker actually switched the locations so he ended up saving Harvey.
Also, they never really say what they do to the Joker, or what happens to him. I think they did that for a reason - that evil and chaos cannot be taken away forever, just like Batman will always have to exist (like how Rachel couldn't be with him). Just my two cents. *shrug* |

I guess that makes sense but I wish they made that clearer in the movie, like not to obvious but still hinting he wanted to save rachel initially. oh yeah that comment about how you cringed everytime he brought out his knife, I did the exact same thing and held onto my boyfriend's arm for dear life. ![]() |

In the original series, the Rachel and Bruce Wayne/Batman relationship doesn't even exist. Rachel and Harvey Dent are supposed to be together, but Rachel doesn't die.
The joker was always in and out of prison. I'm guessing he went to prison or something. For the next one, I think they should put the Mad Hatter |

After the Joker gives Batman the addresses and Batman is leaving Commissioner Gordon asks "Which one you going for?" and Batman says "Rachel". But I honestly missed that the first time too, I caught it last night when I watched it again |

^ idk, i was reading some of the trivia about the movie on imdb and i think the joker AND two-faced were supposed to be present in the third one, if there is a third one, but i'm really not sure now, seeing as two-faced is dead. I thought about that as well. But based off the animated series the joker was always in and out of jail/arkham. *shrug* yes saving Rachael was his original plan, but seeing how the joker switched the addresses he made it to Harvey in record time (30/40 seconds left) leaving Rachael to assure Harvey it was going to be alright when in turn he assured her she was going to be ok. That was kinda obvious if you paid good attention. After the Joker gives Batman the addresses and Batman is leaving Commissioner Gordon asks "Which one you going for?" and Batman says "Rachel". But I honestly missed that the first time too, I caught it last night when I watched it again surpised you missed... it was said clearly and uber obvious since Bruce loves her. also i felt soo bad for Harvey and Bruce. After Rachael dies she had left a letter to Wayne saying that she wasn't going to be with him and marry Dent. But Bruce never reads that letter and believes that she was planning to leave Dent for him. so sad. |

I finally saw this movie today. I went at noon, and the theatre had a ton of people in it. And people waiting afterwards.
I love how they made Harvey have two faces. Some of the people that I went with didn't get it. The good side and the bad side. Like there's two sides to every coin. Everyone has a bad side and everyone has a good side. I thought the joker was funny. Deffinitely one of the best compared to the other people who have played him. It was long, but surprisingly I was able to sit through the whole thing. When he in the semi and pushes the guy out and says "Excuse me. I'd like to drive." ![]() |

^x2 LOL yeah!
Damn that movie was like 2 and a half hours long, BUT I DIDN'T WANT IT TO END! Usually if a movie is 2 hours or longer I can't wait for it to finish, but with this movie...damn. I could watch it for another hour. Totally agree with you about Dent. I thought it was obvious...I mean, the whole point was that the Joker manipulates the White Knight, the hero of Gotham, into this monstrous villain and how easy it was. So everyone has two sides. When Dent (supposedly) dies, Batman moves his head the other way to show his "good side", and that's also why he took the blame for all of Two-Face's crimes - to retain the glimmer of hope that the people of Gotham saw in Dent. Oh, and Dent also mentioned why he used the coin - just like with Rachel, she had a 50/50 chance of surviving, and so he would use this coin to judge people, just like Rachel was judged (wrongly, in his opinion). The more I talk about this movie, the more I want to watch it again and relive all the awesome moments. The movie is jam-packed with action, but more than that...the dialogue is deep without being corny and there are messages scattered throughout. This is definitely a movie that you could benefit from watching a few more times - AND ENJOY IT! Did y'all know that 64% of people would watch The Dark Knight again? I find that amazing. Are you one of those 64%? |

I mean, the first time you see it you're in awe at all the effects and everything that's happening and afterwards you keep thinking about things and swear that you miss the details. Too bad Heath Ledger won't get to play the Joker again ![]() |

Lol, three times? Dang. I'd be willing to see it again, though. Maggie Gylenhaal (yeah, I can't spell her damn name) wasn't really the best Rachel. Sorry, had to say it. She seemed a bit more assertive and bitchy. Too bad Tom Cruise didn't let Katie Holmes out of the house to film another Batman.

Really? I thought Maggie Gyllenhaal. was a big upgrade from Katie Holmes. Sure, the character is mostly one of a damsel in distress, but who doesn't love a strong female character? She's basically the only female character of importance in the entire movie, so I think it's good that she's at least assertive and bitchy, haha. Otherwise the females would have been completely overpowered.

The only ounce of spunk she showed was when she slapped the Joker (not a spoiler, it's in all the trailers). Too much Repunzel not enough Leia if you catch my drift. |

I saw it on thursday. Absolutely amazing. Probably the best movie I've seen in a long long time.
Absolutely loved Heath Ledger in the nurse outfit. That was hilarious. The scene where he was "dead" and brought to the black mob guy was just creepy though. Gave me chills. |
