to help out a stranger?
I'm not talking about holding doors open I'm talking about legitimately going out of your way to help someone in need when you could just as well ignore the whole spiel completely and continue on through your life without getting judged. A couple of days ago I was with my dad in his car and as we arrived near an intersection on 19th avenue in SF we heard a bunch of car honks (I hate excessive car honking). By the look of the situation, a lane of backed up cars, we assumed someone had been a little slow in their driving. wrong! we looked ahead and right in the middle of the road was a 60 year oldish woman pushing her car (with her husband in it). it was a pretty weird scene: the two dressed like tourists, and the car was one of those old fashioned things. next thing we knew, random people on sidewalks, in gas stations, at bus stops, came running over to help out the old lady. they quickly helped her push the car to the side of the road and the whole thing was soon over. it was, quite simply put, really interesting. of course my dad and I just drove by like assholes :) |

A week before christmas this girl from my school lost her house to a fire.
I didnt know her all too well, we didnt talk to each other But we did know who eachother was and stuff. So i ended up giving her 3 of my hollister/abercrombie t-shirts, 1 abercrombie sweatshirt, and a pair of PJ pants. I gave her really nice clothes, They still could fit me, but i just thought she could use them more than me. I didnt mind either, i felt really good about doing it and i have no regrets. |

I would probably help more people, but nowadays you never know people's intentions. With my luck, I would offer a helping and hand and get beaten and robbed.

I helped a family jump start their car in 100 degree weather. It was freakin hot and I had places to be but I let them borrow my cell phone and stayed with them for like, 30 minutes. They were very nice people.
Not that spectacular, but w/e. I did what I could!
