I'm having a hell of a time doing this. I use WMA (whatever version is the most recent) and changed my settings (no overlay) and it still isn't working.

I remember using a different software (player maybe?) to do this but I'm having a hell of time finding something like it. I know I can google it, I've done that already. I just didn't know if any of you have had good experiences with any screen grabbing software and/or have any recommendations.

I absolutely LOVE GomPlayer. Apart from being able to take screencaps just with the shortcut Ctrl+E, you can do a number of things just with the keyboard (adjust brightness/contrast, timing of subtitles, audio syncing, etc). And it's really lightweight and easy to use.

It looks great and has everything I need, but whenever I pop in a dvd and attempt to view with GOM, I get a "windows has encountered an error" type message. :[

Hmm, I don't know if this helps or not:

And it seems like Vista users have this problem.

Gigi that totally worked! The only problem is that apparently GOM doesn't support DVD screen capture. When it does, I'm totally there. It's a nifty little program.

Thanks for the advice. =)

I acquired powerdvd last night, and that seems to be working.
