What face wash is best to getting rid of those small bumps/blackheads on your nose? Have any of you guys tried the Shiseido Vital Perfection Mineral Mud Blackhead Removal Mask? Seems interesting but it does not look like it would work?

I have the same problem. They're really small and usually on the sides of my nose. Luckily, they're easy to cover up. I would recommend using a pore strip. I use the Biore ones (they're inexpensive, too) and put them on after a warm shower. It will get a lot of them and the ones it doesn't get it will losen up and you can take care of them yourself.

Dee, I understand it depends on the person but how often do you use the Biore strips?

I don't really use them a ton. I usually use them when my blackheads get worse and more noticable. I would say at most two times a week, otherwise they're a bit harsh on my skin. But they work really well for me.

I use Biore too. It seriously works, but I also used a fash wash called, Noxzema. I put it 15 minutes before getting into the shower. rolleyes.gif

I use Body Shop's Blackhead Minimizing Mask thing...since you spread it on your nose yourself, the shape actually fits. For me, premade strips are kind of awkward and either don't reach all areas of my nose, or just don't fit.

QUOTE
How To Get Rid Of Blackheads:

[1] Keep the skin as clean and oil free as possible. Use natural or chemically prepared cleansers, astringent solutions or masks to accomplish this. Avoid harsh soaps that may irritate the skin or any creams that leave an oily finish.

[2] Use a gentle exfoliant to keep the dead cells off your skin and away from the pore openings. (Clean&Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub is great)

[3] Avoid harsh squeezing or scraping at the blackhead. Excessive squeezing can damage the skin surround the pore and can actually increase the size of the pore leading to more blackheads in the future.

[4] A warm compress of water applied to the area of the blackhead followed by a very, very gentle pressure can help in clearing the clog from the pore. (You can also steam and then use a mask)

[5] "Blackhead strips", which are basically a tape like substance that is placed over the nose and then pulled off will remove some blackheads that are at the surface. (Bioré)

Blackhead strips are really harsh on the skin, and some people have blackheads that are under the skin, and no matter how much you open your pores with steam/warm water, it will not get it.

Instead, opt for those blackhead removers that are a cream/mud mask that you spread on and massage in and wash off. I've used a few brands that are from Japan and get heated as you massage it in. Afterward, my blackheads and dead skin cells are gone.

I love using the face masks. They make me feel really girly. I have to, like, paint my nails afterwards, lol.

i have the neutrogena wave and i was oober surprised when it started making blackheads go away/be less noticeable. only use it once a day though, or a few times a week.

i found out, by mistake, that if you expose it to heat/sunlight for a while, it actually works better. mellow.gif

How long did it take you to see a change when using the Wave. My friend has one and I've tried it two or three times (when we were on vacation, and I didn't bring face wash) and I didn't really notice a difference.
