So yeah.
I'm only 15.
Obviously most places don't someone so young, excluding the fact that I'll be 16 next month. It sucks.

How old were you when you got your first job?
And what was it?

I had a semi-permanent babysitting gig when I was 15, but that doesn't really count, I guess.

I was 17 when I started waiting tables...

You know I tried that when I was a freshman but my friends didn't like the idea at all.

16, still got it - worked my way up from a sales assistant to a duty manager at a store in town.

We occasionally hire under 16's for part time work - the only thing is that they can't legally sell ciggies. If you make the right impression, sometimes an employer can overlook a year or two. Good luck!

I haven't gotten a job yet.

Where do you live? In New York City, 14 is the legal working age, I think.

Can you sell cigarettes even if your 16 now, since they raised the legal age?

I'm a farm kid, so I've been doing that for as long as I can remember. It counts as a job, I get paid and paid income tax.

shove some makeup on your face
dont smile or look happy
wear dark sophisticated clothes
bam, hopefully you'll get your job.
wear black sunglasses/shades when you ask for application and when you about to open the door for interview, take them off in front your boss.

Suburb of Philly. You can begin working at very few places at age 14. But most require 16.

Not even an effing Grocery Store wanted me. stubborn.gif

Yesterday I had to ask for an application at a Senior Citizen home. I was sooo nervous cuz the old ladies were gawking at me!
