I think a delicate ring would be cool. I thought that Alice (don't know the actress' name), during her interview, was wearing the crest on her ring, but I guess she wasn't.

I'm sure the spider monkey thing is just something they did for the movie... Same with the greenhouse scene and other things. They aren't going to completely stick to the book. They never do with book-movie things.
