So I'm looking to buy a new mp3 player, ideally I'd like it to hold around 5 gigs. Input?

And I have an iPod but honestly, I don't know which would be better because I've never used a Zune.

Sorry about wrong section.

Are they both pretty durable? I plan on using it mostly when I'm out skating.

I find them to be durable as I skate as well. Might want to get a case for it though, just to be on the safe side.

This is old, but may be helpful for you:

Wow, I was just comparing the two with my friend! We're both thinking of buying a Zune soon, since it finally came out in Canadian stores.

I heard that the Zune is more durable, but the software for the iPod (iTunes) is more user-friendly. I keep hearing that the software for Zune is annoying and confusing.

I have personally had both, and can tell you that the Ipod is MUCH easier to get along with.

My Ipod got a bit damp from sweat and the screen crapped out.

My Zune has been thrown against walls and its fine.

Can you expand on that? How is it much easier to get along with?

I mean as far as using the software like Itunes to put music on the ipod and what not. The Ipod touch is a VERY GOOD investment.

It's much more user friendly at first. But the Zune is very easy to get used to.

Ugh, I wish I could get a Zune. f**k Apple for making it relatively impossible/incredibly annoying to get any MP3 player other than an iPod.

zunes for the win, why? its way cheaper first of all,for the 4 and 8GB's the ipod is about 20 dollars more expensive and the zune personally looks cooler in my opinion then the new nano, I really want the 30GB zune but they discontinue it, also Zune comes with the ability to share music pictures and other types of media. Zune has all the features of ipod plus a radio. Also Zunes are so much more durable, I have lots of skater friends and they are all switching from apple to zune because zunes tend to have a harder shell. also buying music from zune only requires microsoft points and or money, so you can get music through microsoft points on the zune but ipod only accepts cash for itunes and I already have a bunch of microsoft points just by enterin and winning contest like on forums like these

iPod for sure! just get a case for it because it will last longer with one. Plus I agree with what DoubleJ said that it is much easier to get along with.

Well, went and picked up a Zune today. Only thing I don't like about it is the lack of an equalizer, hopefully one will be added in the near future with a software update though.

I don't like Apple but i say Ipod, No Question!!
Its simple to use, and not hard to figure out.
Zune has some cool features but i don't think its worth it.
IPOD!

How? Zune and iPods are generally the same price. iPods are probably more expensive for the song capability.
