i hate uniform. _dry.gif
my high school's dress code is:
green, grey, white top. [polos/button-ups/has to have collar]
black, khaki, navy bottoms & jeans.
no shorts/capris. booooo.
no tanks.
skirts are allowed but can't be shorter than two inches above the knees.
closed-toe shoes. no flip-flops.

oh since 2006 in my school, people can't wear black shirts under their uniform shirts because it means you're in a gang.

and i remember in middle school, no one could wear those black rubber bracelets because they were called "sex bracelets".

Lawl, my middle school only cared if your outfit was causing a distraction in class. I don't think my HS has a dress code... Hell, no one even cares if we don't wear shoes, and your tee-shirt can say anything you like/have any picture you want (guns, drugs, alcohol, you name it) as long as you're not threatening a student or teacher with it. Although they tried to ban bandannas once, the administration thought they were too gang related. That rule went out the window when the entire school showed up in bandannas. The students at my school are surprisingly good at organizing things like that.

If I were you, I'd switch schools, but that's just because it's the least confrontational. Getting the student body to protest usually works best though. One important thing to understand about schools is that they don't dare get everybody in trouble if it's a protest.

Wiki Gothic and print it out. Show the principle. Say "I don't ACT like this, just because I wear black doesn't mean anything, stop stereo typing."

I had a major problem at my school also. We got told we were not allowed to wear tops that show lots of skin etc (not LOTS as such, but just like a tank top or w/e they're called, Muscle tops? eh i dunno) ANYWAY I had a massive fit because the teachers still wore them, as well as short skirts etc. So the next day I turned up in a short skirt with tights. :L with a top showing "skin" I was so aggro cuz they where being hypocritical. And also allowing other girls (The "Favorite girls") to wear those clothes.
So ye. They whipped the "rule" out because I wouldn't drop it. Ah back to the point..

Just keep turning up in the clothes, till they ban you or w/e.
Then take them to court for stereo typing you.

Wow, your principal's weird forreals.

My school has started to enforce the dress code recently. We're not allowed to wear shorts/skirts that stop above our hand if our arms were just at our sides. I've got caught so many times it's fckin' stupid. I think the woman just watches me 24/7 because I have a boyfriend. :| I hate it. AND I SWEAR, my skirts are like, BARELY above my finger by like a centimeter. She's so lame. -____________-

and isn't it a public school? they can make the dress code like that unless the whole school board does it

a lot of girls at my school wear short shorts, I of course wear them one day and get into trouble, but i have long legs it wasn't fair

Gay =/= stupid/bad.

here's mine: no facial/tounge piercings, with the exception of the ears.
hair must be a natural color.
no pajama pants or shits.
no sleeveless shirts. sleeves must be at least 3 inches in length.
no pants below the waist, and/or undergarments showing.
skirts must be longer then the middle-finger when the arms are down at the sides.
no jewelry with chains, spikes, or long ropes.
no coats worn in classes. they must be put in a locker or taken off in class.
no hats worn inside the building, as well as gloves, scarves, and sun glasses.
no open-toed shoes (sandals, flipflops)

thats about it. it used to be you couldn't wear hoodies.

We can wear skirts up to your middle finger but you can not have any wholes on or above your knees. Even if you have tights on under. That makes no sense. And the stuff they consider violent or gang related is always some stupid bullshit ting that never makes sense.

That is lame, if it was like something with like a dirty joke, or something crude on it, i would understand, but those are the dumbest reasons.

I'm all for wearing whatever you want, but I've seen a few people who've blatantly abused this right. I've seen dumbass teenagers wearing XXL clothes that don't even remotely fit them and I'm like, "Dude you're not big and you're not buff". Also, people that have belts and their jeans are still sagging can kill themselves. But then I've also seen some f*cked up shirts depicting recent terrorist attacks or attempts at racial humor that aren't funny. So really, you can thank the dude(s) that f*cked it up for your school for these restrictions anyway. That usually means that there has been a pattern of people of similar attire doing reckless or illegal things, or just being retarded in general, which can lead to these restrictions.

In any case you should develop logical arguments to their statements. "Oh you gais ban black clothes? So you guys ban the color black eh? Does that mean black people get detention for being black? f*ck you, racist." You might get expelled if you repeat it verbatim but if you are tactful about what you say then your cause will be heard.
