so...
in one episode of tyra, she said that we should sleep in ours bras to prevent our boobs from sagging.
but...
i was talking with my friend about this & she told me that her mom said not to sleep in your bra because when you sleep you should be comfortable meaning you should wear clothes that are not tight on you. she also told me that sleeping in your bra causes cancer.

so what's the dilio?
right now i'm not sleeping in a bra because of what my friend said. & my aunt has breast cacner so i'm scared...

okay i'm going to clarify this for natalia because both my parents are in the medical field and i love tyra but she's an idiot on this subject matter.

first of all, sleeping in a bra that has an underwire is not something a girl should do, especially because if it's really tight, it may cause some pressure upon circulation around the breasts which could lead into a mass like laurel has stated or it could cause blood clots in extreme cases. normally, sleeping in a bra causes much discomfort and if you do sleep in a bra, you should be sleeping in a really loose one but i don't see why people sleep in bras even if they're lazy, it's just something you don't do. it's kind of like sleeping with your regular clothes instead of your pjs. you're supposed to go to bed with loose clothes for comfort reasons and for blood circulation. if you're going to sleep in a bra, sleep in a cotton one or something. or just don't do it.

there has been some research that most women who develop breast cancer all have worn bras. so you could say that bras cause breast cancer, but that's speculation. and it has to do with the tight bras and blood circulation factors.

Tyra makes this point to sleep in your bra so your boobs don't sag, but I don't know about you guys, but when I sleep, I'm laying on my back which doesn't exactly allow my boobs to droop. Sagging boobs is caused by gravity and old age. So when you're up and around town, put your bra on if you don't want your boobs to sag, but a bra can only prevent your boobs from sagging for so long as you grow older.

bras @ night will not prevent anything, but it COULD and MAY result in poor circulation of the blood around your breasts.

I've slept in my bra since I started wearing one.
Nearly 7 years ago.
I know, not long in the grand scheme of things.
For me, it's just more comfortable.
Of course, I wear sports bras to bed.

Ermm, well, I highly doubt that a bra would cause cancer. Wearing a bra to sleep won't make a bunch of your cells mutate and become cancerous. That's just stupid.

I don't wear a bra to sleep simply because I think it's uncomfortable.

first of all tyra is an idiot about 100% of the time
ive taken alot of medical classes and believe it or not
this subject comes up alot
what goes up must come down so sagging is inevitable
but the answer is neither!
there actually is such thing as a night bra
which ends up feeling like of being the equivalant
to an undershirt that has a bra in it it lets u and ur boobs lol

yeah. ever since i heard it causes breast cancer i stopped. my mom said it wasnt true but... idk which to believe so i just dont sleep with it. there's a work out that you can do every five minutes of the day to prevent it from sagging. haha. i though it was hilarious when i heard about it but i do it just for the heck of it. ...especially when im bored. :D

I don't do that a lot because my mom likes to just enter my room without warning.

Your breasts can sag if you don't wear a bra regularly. But sleeping without your bra won't contribute to the sag, unless you sleep standing up.
