i'm really not wanting to be a troll or anything, but there are a few siggy's around here that are really...not appropriate. they don't show major nudity or anything, but IMO, they're disgusting.
it really bothers me because i have to be really careful about what topics I can look at when my parents are home, and even then, they're usually in there somewhere.
once again, not trying to be a troll, so i'm going to stop my opinions at that. >_<

QUOTE(kreios @ Jun 7 2008, 10:37 PM) *
There are several options you have, you can edit your controls to not see anyone's signature all together, or you can block each image individually. The people's signatures which you are referring to are pg-13 images. They do not break any rule here, so we cannot remove them. You can block them, or you can change your settings so you do not see them. That is all that we can offer.

ohhh, i forgot that was there. thanks.

The little Pedobear images in her sig are arguably less offensive/provocataive than the signatures in question.

Becka, I understand your concern, and this is being discussed Backstage right now. Have you changed your settings to hide signatures?

For now, just hide the signatures. I personally don't have an issue with them, but this is a site geared towards younger people and we have a lot of younger users, hence the PG13 rules.

I don't about you, but I wouldn't want any 13-year-old, or younger, seeing the image in your signature. That's why it's not PG-13.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry was PG-13, so my signature is just fine.

People under 13 are not supposed to be members of createblog, anyway.

Well you have to understand, people deserve to come onto the almost unregulated world wide web without hearing curse words or seeing provocative images. Sex is a very hush hush issue in today's day and age and we should follow suite with public schools and make sure that people under 18 retain their virgin eyes without seeing something that might make their pee pee a little bit harder or make them curious as to how things work.

pg-13 = 13 and older should be viewing and anyone younger should gtfo.

so why are we worried about people younger than 13 again?

Well you see, humor and amusement are strictly forbidden on these forums. We, like the government, must worry about the general public's sensitivity and cater to the minorities, not worrying about how it affects the majority.

QUOTE
A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. The theme of the motion picture by itself will not result in a rating greater than PG-13, although depictions of activities related to a mature theme may result in a restricted rating for the motion picture. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context. The Rating Board nevertheless may rate such a motion picture PG-13 if, based on a special vote by a two-thirds majority, the Raters feel that most American parents would believe that a PG-13 rating is appropriate because of the context or manner in which the words are used or because the use of those words in the motion picture is inconspicuous.
