i have two~i have a really cheap revlon which still keeps kind of a wave in my hair. i also have a ultra chi which i love because it straightens my hair really nicely, but i don't use it THAT often because of all the heat.

the best ones to use are the ones with the ceramic plates rather than metal. the metal damages your hair. iiii actually have NO clue what brand i use. LoL. i have a one inch one && a 3 inch one && they work great! next time im using one of em, i'll look at the brand && tell ya [yeah..im too lazy to get up && check LoL.]

I heard the Sedu was better than the Chi quality wise -- so I'm going for that. :X

I initally had a conair, but then it broke. Lol... so I didn't bother buying another one and bought a pink limited Chi. It was a little pricey, but still very well worth it :D

now does this nano do the trick or controlling frizz pretty easily? because when i want to a salon about 8 months ago (long time, i kno) the stylist did my hair with one of those and i really didn't see a difference.

Well it also depends on the product she uses with your hair. After she washes your hair, did she put some hair serum (i.e. paul mitchell super skinny serum) in your hair? It helps with drying and creates a coating on your hair that helps keep it from being roasted by the flat iron. Then you blow dry your hair or let it air dry. After you straighten your hair, make sure you put on another even amount of serum on your hair, as that will help flatten some of the frizz and smooth away the flyaways.

Honestly, I can't give you a good enough opinion since my hair is pretty straight, but it does have a slight wave to it (every since i cut it really short a while back). But the Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum + Chi Nano worked really well with my hair. I guess I'm partial to my Chi Nano because I got it for free. eyebrowes.gif

I don't have a chi..
in fact I have a crappy flat iron but I really don't need alot of heat on mines...I have naturally straight hair but its gets a bit curly in the shower so thats when I use it..frizz is a problem for me but other than that I only use my straightner when I wanting the frizz to not kindas show...but like it matter I wear my hair in a cuter way than the lead singer off of the band "tokio hotel" bill....*drool*

I have naturally straight Asian hair, so I don't use one.
But I know my friend uses the Chi, and I heard its pretty good, but pricey---->about $120 at the mall near my house. ph34r.gif

My CHI broke down on me a couple of months ago, so I bought the GHD 1" hot pink iron and it's AMAZING! I have to straighten my hair every other day and it works wonders for me.

Oh man, I don't know how you can straighten your hair every day. sweating.gif It's damaging to your hair. I mean, I have to take breaks in between because my hair was starting to feel dry, even though I was using high quality hair products to protect it. I stopped straitening it for a while now and my hair feels a lot healthier.

But I need to start straightening it again because I've been sleeping with my hair wet, so it dries while I'm sleeping and often my hair gets really poofy in random places, so I wish I did straighten it. I would have, but I've been living at the BF's for quite some time now, and my straightener is at home. D:

I use a super crappy Revlon one because my hair is almost completely straight on its own when I take the care to blow it straight with a brush. I use it rarely, only when I sleep on my hair weird and there's a kink in it or something.

If you're Asian and have naturally straight hair, I think a better alternative than straightening often is to straighten out the hair via blowdrying - after all it's much less hot (although still damaging, but not quite as damaging).

i use Mark Hill/Morphy Richard's.
They're a second to GHDS (which i want so so much!) and i guess they're okay...but i've had them for nearly three years. and we straightened a gummy dolphin with them once, so i kind of need some new ones...

i have a CHI Pink Dazzle Limited Edition & i love it! my sister & i both have straight hair and we use it to curl & style and my mom has super thick & wavy hair and she uses it to straighten her hair. it's really good. maybe it's not the best but it certainly is one of the better ones.

I use this one. It's really good.
I have other old straighteners too. I've had the Chii, Remington T-Studios, CVS...
This one's pretty much my favorite. Heats up in about 3-5 seconds. :)
