Hey guys I made this new wallpaper for the Twilight Saga, I've yet to read it, but my best friend loves the series, so this was made for her.

Hope you guys like it to, its in the process of being approved.

You didn't do much is what they're saying, this can be acheived by any person that has a scanner imo. since all the book covers are black, they blend together as soon as there is no white-space. And then you added a quote.

Once again, I guess I forgot the part of requirements where it says you HAVE to use overlays, and generic brushes. Not everyone that uses Createblog for their graphic and "myspace" needs wants something flashy and artsy, sometimes people want simplistic things, but I guess it makes sense, seeing as how this site is ran by mostly teenagers.

I understand that its simple, and looks like it could be done using a scanner (which I actually challenge someone to do) but aside from wanting the same overlays and bland textures and brushes, what could be added to this SIMPLE wallpaper for fans of twilight.

and please it your going to respond with a biased opinion because its not up to your "twilight" standards, then do me a favor and just ignore this, but for anyone who wants to actually help me make this better without adding Overlays and Brushes, then I gladly welcome your criticism.

well first of all, everyone is going to have a different opinion, and some people's tastes are different to others. you have to expect the odd slating now and again; i guess its just what people on createblog do.
but its genuine opinion and they are trying to help you, as am i
it's useless getting worked up about it, because to be honest its only an internet forum and if you're proud of your work then who can actually take that away from you? and if your friend liked what you made for her that is what matters.
take lead with the advice people are giving you and just have a bash at it another time, you're going to get some bad comments but you've got to work with them.

i like what you have done. i think that the chess part could be of a lighter opacity, because for me it dominates the image a bit! im not sure whether the font you have chosen works, or whether its just the font colour which you have chosen, so try playing about with that a bit. And maybe choose a different quote, as that one doesn't really fit in with the theme you have here.
i like the purity this gives, and the miss-match between reds and whites.
it is very simple, and could be improved but it works well and it's far from a disaster.

awesome suggestions, thanks everyone for their input. I know how to use overlays, i.e. textures,brushes,gradients,patterns, but for this one I wanted simplicity, i'm not saying that all overlays are bad, because I would be a hypocrit if you look at my graphics work on createblog, but this one I wanted it to look simple and elegant, and with the above comments I'm sure I can achieve that.
