My friend gave birth just a few days ago and I'm just very excited about it.
 I haven't gotten a chance to see the baby in person just yet but I have seen a picture:http://a304.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/image...6a640cbffd7.jpg ^ In her super red asian state. She's half Thai and half Flip, which is the mix that I wanted to be one of the few to produce. I guess she beat me to it by a good 10 years.  I guess the main question is, have you ever wanted to just have a baby because of how cute it was despite how selfish that seems? I mean, if I wasn't 15 and still attending school, I mean, hey toss me a fertile mertile. |

Her eyes are so oblong, and sharp (can't think of a better word) at the corners!
No, I wouldn't want a child just for the cuteness factor. Too much work for a superficial reason. |

Oddly enough, she's the first asian baby I've seen born to a pregnant asian teenage mother. You hardly see asians.
 Maybe its just me. I'm new to this having-pregnant-friends.

yes i would like to have kids some day. but as far as having one "because of how cute it was despite how selfish that seems" i have never thought of that, tbh. i don't think i would. but this reminds me of how people act the same way with puppies; they want them while they are cute, adorable puppies yet once they start to look like an actual dog, they give them away or don't want them anymore which makes me sad (  ) & mad ( ).

Pretty much all the girl I've known who've gotten pregnant have been white trash. Not that there was any shortage of girls of other races being pregnant around school, I just can't recall knowing any of them. Getting impregnated is just about the absolute last thing I'd want right now.

Your friends baby is absolutely adorable!
Being part of a filipino family and having the majority of my friends being asian, I have seen and known several pregnant asian teenagers (my cousin included) The more you age, the more and more you'll see your friends becoming pregnant -- soon you'll be invited to baby showers, Bachelorette parties, weddings, etc. It was a new and weird phenomenon to me too, at first, but I gradually became accustomed with the new transition of having friends that get pregnant and married at such a young age. I personally wouldn't want a child just because of the cuteness factor. There are so many other factors that come into play, such as finances, being emotionally "ready", etc. It's hard work raising a baby, and takes a lot out of you. There have been times that I've gone, "Aww, how cute! I want one!" though, but I definitely did not mean RIGHT NOW. Sometime in the future would be nice, though. :) |

Personally, I think babies look like little aliens. And the first thing I think of when I think of having babies is how that thing is going to come out.
I'd rather go buy a cute purse or something. Something that won't cry every hour and drool all over me and smell bad. Gosh, that made me sound horrible. |

I would hope that a mother would think her baby is cute, but I would also hope that's not the only reason for having it. I would have to genuinely want to devote the rest of my life to making the child's life a good one, and right now I'm definitely not at that point. |
