I think that Thomas is doing a standout job in the Resource Forums and with the queue. Actually, the queue has been looking fantastic, all the DS are really pitching in, so thanks to you all. =)

Glad to see you back Diana!

P.S. Been wondering, and debating, because I obviously don't have the opportunity to watch as much as I should, is that the Doc right there?

^ Tell me, is this not unacceptable?

Ten and a half hours now, and no one else has seen it. Usually I'd let it go but manny-the-dino, Design Staffer, clearly has seen it and has passively let it go. The topic's location/repost is not a huge deal, but the way the situation has been dealt with is unacceptable.

I understand that. The problem here is not with the merging of the topics or the resolving of one specific, trivial problem. It is representative of how things are handled around here.

You can't hold her responsible for lack of people staff activity, of course, but that wasn't even the point I was getting at. The point is that she saw the topic, read the posts, realized there was a mistake, and said "hopefully someone on PS will see this _smile.gif". To me, that is not acceptable. It's not that she never saw the problem and wasn't able to address it, it was that she saw the problem and didn't do a single thing about it. I could care less if a topic on ANTM was fixed. It's how it was handled (or rather, how it was not).

yeah which is why I was surprised that I STILL hadn't gotten a single PM about the subject. I'd think that after you brought it up, I'd at least get a PM from manny if not thomas, but I agree that the passive stance the staff is taking needs to change

LOL WTF? how does our lack of acquaintanceship have anything to do with anything? what's the point of even having a staff if something as trivial as "oh I dont know you" will get in the way of having a conducive environment?

and if you were going to PM someone, you might as well have pmed the entire PS staff, not just one person in hopes of them seeing it.

the math: the chances of 4 people checking their emails/PMs is much larger than the chance of 1 person doing the same. of course this is without the activity factor, but if so unsure, just PM the entire staff.

Gigi, I'm really sorry that this hasn't been fixed and considering that its 6 hours later.

I moved it to movies/tv. Again, I'm sorry that no one saw it sooner, sometimes we just overlook things.

Personally I come on every while and now, but I've been on the mango-butter name because I've been doing the queue trainings today and will be tomorrow.

It's obvious 2/3 of the staff suddenly disappeared like Ray Allen in the 2008 Nba Playoffs.

I didn't see it either and I was all over the place last night, trying to post in different areas. :[ I agree that if a staff member sees something, it should be communicated instead of left alone.

People Staff - There have been a few that have posted in the Backstage absent thread regarding the lack of availability last week through this week (and next, I believe). Things like prom, exams, ect. The Absent thread that was in the Lounge was unpinned (it was considered unnecessary, I guess).

I have asked that people indicate if/when they are out in their signatures from now on.

I have been lenient about activity lately since school is wrapping up and I know that it typically gets hectic around this time.

This topic was initially in debate. Eventually moved to music (which is a good thing), but not before being moved to relationships, where regardless of what Thomas thinks, it does not belong.

People can go through the queue now, since the new staff hasn't gone through proper training, I've made a guide and anyone thats new has to read it and then they have to talk to me so they can go through their accepted items and reject anything that shouldn't have been accepted.

We kept the queue to pile up so we could use some of the stuff during the training, things will start to get better.

And also as Thomas said, we need the design team all on the same page with standards.

alright you guys better not be on two separate pages. cb standards being raised way too high may offer the best graphics or whatever on this website but it will also discourage many from submitting.

i've had stuff rejected before and it kind of discouraged me to submit about 90% of my icons and graphics but that's alright, cb kind of ruins the quality of my icons so i just keep it on my website.

but it would be really nice if you guys could work on better rejection letters like, "i'm sorry to inform you that your graphic has been rejected. your graphic may not exactly uphold to cb's standards. your graphic in general.......(then explain what's wrong with it)"

you know? instead of just saying one line replies such as, "it's just cropped."

well i dont take this personally or anything. i always just PM some one else for their opinion.

well no kidding they mean the same thing. but it's kind of like the difference between being an a-hole and being helpful.

example:
your graphic is a POS because it's too blurry.

vs

i'm not a huge fan of your graphic, it's really blurry. you might want to change the type of file you're using.

or simply

Your dress is really effin' ugly.

vs

I don't think your dress is really flattering, it's taking away from your beauty.

new members or old, short blunt messages discourage many who submit creations. even some get discouraged from the discussion board from rude/mean/unwelcoming moderators.

Christy (highway), Thomas and I have just cleaned out the queue. Were still working on some things, but it should be cleaned out for the most part.

I'm sorry for any problems this could have caused.

Anyway to inform you guys, so you understand. The new people to the queue are going through a training. This will show them what standards we are going by and I've been showing them examples as well. Also I made a guide backstage, and also part of the training I'm helping them rejection letters too. I know its really dissapointing to wait for a notice on a graphic or layout on to see a one liner thrown in the rejection letter. Please do keep in mind sometimes we just don't have the time to write a essay for a rejection letter (exaggeration) and we just write the main concern to the graphic or layout. If you do ever get one of these and you really want a better answer, just simply PM us back. I've never taken it offensively for someone to ask me for a bigger comment as to why their work was rejected, I'll even apologize for only giving you a sentence in the first place.

EDIT : haha, people are being that blunt in the rejection letters? I've never seen that, I mean in the past. I don't mean to mention names, but I know Trish could be rude sometimes in rejection letters. But the new staff? I'd be surprised to see anything like that xD

i'm not asking for you guys to write an exaggerated essay, it'd be nice to send people maybe a general letter. you know? copy & paste, change their user name and all that.

Oh yea, thats what people should do.

Lol I meant that I was exaggerating by saying it was a essay. Just a short paragraph is probably nice. I do know some people do keep rejection letters for different reasons and just save them so all they have to do is copy and paste, its a great idea.
