the very first time i wanted to shave my legs my mom told me the same thing... she said it'd be better to wax. i waxed the very first time but i mostly shave. i don't mind either though. and usually if you shave or wax it will grow back a little darker (not thicker) regardless.
if you do decide to shave you should read this first:
http://beauty.about.com/od/hairremoval/a/shavetips.htm
some useful tips & what-not. good luck!

I've always wanted to try Nair, too, haha.

If you really want to shave, just do it. Your mom can't stop you from buying a razor and shaving your legs. You could even do it at a friend's house.

How old are you? It's possible that your mom wants you to wait until you're a certain age, but past a certain point she'll have to understand if it's what you want to do.

^yeah how old are you? your mom's main issue may be your age.

well you're going to have to shave eventually.
if you do decide to do so today, just be careful considering it's your first time shaving because you may get cuts.

as for waxing, yes it does hurt but it lasts so much longer & your skin will feel smoother.

Yea. My mom said the same thing. But if you dont wait long enough then the hair grows back ALOT faster. So you should really wait til later on.

yeah, i heard nair sucks like really bad. whatever, i don't grow that much hair on my legs anyways. i can not shave for like two weeks, and you can barely tell i have hair on my legs.

- just be careful to shave to fast because you might get razor burn, but then don't do it too slow either because you might get cut.
- don't shave against the hair. shave the direction the hair is going.

but your mom probably thinks you're still too young. but my little cousin who is twelve started shaving like four months ago. i don't know why, lol. but she did. thats something your mom can't control, if you want to shave your legs, shave them. the worst she can do is ground you, she can't MAKE the hair grow back on the spot. lol.

It's true...just use Nair or Veet or go to a spa & get waxed...I'm happy I'm not hairy so I just go get waxed twice a year...

That's a myth. It doesn't do that, it may like the first time, but thats it. I mean my hair takes all most a month to come back to the point I can see it, of course I hear thats very uncommon. So I mean personally, I think if you want to shave your legs to just go ahead and do it. It's your body and your choice.

Thats true with shaving the face, but I don't really shave my legs. Its not normal for a guy to do that. Not that I like to be normal. But theres some things that you just have to be normal with.

No pain, no gain. Its easier to shave but you should wax cause it lasts longer and its better. _smile.gif Nair kinda scares me, what if someone forgets to close the bottle and I go to get it and it tips over and falls on my head. I'll be bald. Sigh. Darn this imagination.

My mother didn't want me to shave either at first. She let me use Nair, then didn't care if I shaved anymore. That was about two years ago. Talk to your mom about it. If you're really that conscious about the hair on your legs, I'm sure that you and your mom can find a solution together.
