Coming home an hour later than you're supposed to be, questioning your sexual orientation, letting your hormones get the best of you, wanting to get crunk and stay out late, disobeying your parents and all that jazz. Sound familiar? Just as you would see those bad rebellious chicks in the movies, there are many in real life as well. Are you one of them? When did you go through it, if you ever did? laugh.gif

all i really ever do is let my hormones get the best of me.. i do kind of argue with my parents, but it's only when i think things are just unfair.

for example, letting my older brother back from college drive my car around everywhere (i filled up the tank yesterday, then he took the car when i got home... this morning when i left for my cello lesson, it was half full. WTF) when he doesn't have to pay for gas or insurance or anything at all, while restricting me from going to the library to study and then go to work.

i argue about things like that. otherwise, i'm pretty cool with them nowadays.. mostly because they don't know what i'm doing, but it's really nothing too horrible. it's just like going to go grab food with coworkers after we're done, and that takes maybe half an hour.

what am i talking about again?

^haha im sure you had a point somewhere wink.gif

i never full that full fledged teenage rebellion thing, but my parents began to upset me more and more from 13 and on.

my younger sister though is only 12 and it hit HARD. All of my family has to suffer the consequences.
She leaves the house to meet boys without asking, and puts of a buttload of makeup when she gets to school.

I've gone through the crisis stage, but I haven't gone through the rebellous stage yet. I think some of the reason is because I was forced to grow up before I actually grew up.

Oh yeah. I was only 14, and sure, I suppose there could be a worse year coming, but I sure as hell hope not. Coming out isn't fun, but it doesn't help when you were stuck in the situation I was. At least my parents actually believe me now, Christ. Not to mention I had this crush on this girl who is a total commitaphobe. (And doesn't like me anyway, xD) So I decided to become the poster child for emo-ness. So not a good idea, but I certainly got the attention I was looking for.

I think teenagers really have it rough sometimes. Not me in particular, but honestly, who really wants to be at this age? That's why the God I don't technically believe in gave us music. To get by when our hormones decide to conduct a mutiny against our common sense. whistling.gif

I don't think this is anything like a midlife crisis... This is the fun of being a youth. Having no worries and partying with your friends. I am 18 and I still let my hormones take control and I still party. It's just living life. It's fun, and I want to have loads of fun since you only live once.

Yeah, but being a teen isn't all fun and parting. Some teens have an easier adolescence... Some get their heart broken, have come out to their stupid parents, failed all of their classes, have a close friend turn on them, get an STD, hate their body image... the list is sort of endless. Yeah, you only live once, but sometimes the hard stuff is inevitable.

My "rebellion" is pretty pathetic. I'm a good student/the good child because my parents were the stoners who didn't go to college and cut class...

Though I do lie. And I'll cheat if I think I can get away with it. Oh, and I break things, frequently. I download way too much music, but my parental units know all about that.

I still sometimes get the urge to do something really stupid/"teenage rebellion"-y. Someday I might get around to it, maybe.

You mean the "Who am I? What am I doing? *sobs while looking at a mirror* Let's fight with everyone endlessly!" shit?

Nahhh.

I was always completely aware of who I was, and where I was headed.

I have always had a good head on my shoulders, because I knew from the outset, what I wanted to accomplish in life. Besides that, my mom, was hell bent on making sure that I tapped into my potential fully. Although I do question some decisions that I make, and even myself, I know that it all happens for a reason.

yessss, i most deifinitely went through a teenage mid-life crisis. i never did homework, was over dramatic and completely depressed about stupid things, behaving in an absolutely ridiculous fashion around boys, never thought things through, coming home at three a.m. instead twelve... :).
it was all one big learning experience.

I guess you can say I did; I was 16 entering college so I was the baby but I got along with older people so of course I was always around where ever they went & did whatever...I was a rebel...sex, drugs, rock & roll is what we always said...but yea all I could think of was fun; I never questioned my sexual orientation...I loved guys...esp. the sr. frat guy that got a hold of me when I was 17 until recently...I hated my dad & still do; I would fight him, cuss, everything...it didnt matter, u couldn't tell me nothin...the only person i listen to is my mom & grandmom...I tried a lot of things...but it's all good now...I'm a mature young adult who expereienced what I wanted & figured the fast life is not what I want to live...I like having a boyfriend that cares about me, being drug & alcohol free, etc. I can't allow myself to become intoxicated; then I'd be ugly; can't have that, plus I have too much going for myself to allow craziness to screw it up...I'll be darned...

I'm actually DEEP in it right now. Actually, no. My mom is just being a bitch about everything. It's almost menopause, ya knoe. But anyway, when I was 13 - 18. >< Horrible! :(

Eeesh, I've had my own PREteenage crisis.

But nothing like you describe it.

I call it my emo-im-getting-rebellious-and-hate-my-parents-and-think-my-friends-are-dumb-and-i-wanna-die phase. whistling.gif It was when I was twelve and they forced me to go to a Christian school when I thought I was an atheist.
