So my relationship situation has greatly improved since I last posted here several months ago. It's been a huge turnaround. BUT the frustrating part seems to by my fault :( When my boyfriend tries his best to be nice and caring towards me, I tend to push him away, get mad, irritated, etc. Whereas when he was an ass to me I would be right there berating and blaming myself; which is what he seems to be doing now (which doesn't have much of an effect on me besides pissing me off).

This is the same thing that happened to me in my last relationship. I concluded it was because after getting treated not-so-good for so long (and in more than one relationship), I taught myself not to accept any type of caring or compassion (to prevent myself from getting hurt, possibly? Not entirely sure.) And this is a bad thing, as it hurts my boyfriend and I know it. I just don't know how to stop. When I try to appreciate and accept that he changed, I just seem to get more frustrated.

I was wondering... do any of you react in a similar way to your significant other?
What did you do to improve your situation?
Or did it not improve at all?

Feedback/opinions welcome (:
