some updates since this morning: some of the nav is targeted to the div id's so that its easier to browse the page, since its so long. (comments, resources, and contact).


i replaced the regular links in the footer with my own.

put a scrollbar on the comments to save some space. i really dont like my pages to be too long.

switched up some of the header borders so some are solid and some are dashed.

it looks too simple and at the same time "clutter", and not much is done with it to showcase. it looks like a regular default cb profile, with added colors and texts and a banner. angie's worst cb layout is better than this by a mile.

Yeah I have a hard time settling on something for a cb profile. I'm not too fond of "div overlays" for a cb profile, if only because you lose almost all the functionality of cb4 when you do that. I would rather leave all of cb4's functions, and just tweak it to my own style. So you'll notice all of my cb layouts are standards, because you can pretty much achieve the web 2.0 style while still sticking to cb4's basic framework. You can't do that with myspace, because everything on myspace is done with tables.

The other reason I'm over div overlays for cb layouts is it's really played out. Takes a lot more effort to integrate the basic framework with your own design and still have it look professional.

For people who have absolutely no eye for design, they might not think much of it, but that's why no one cares what they think.


SO from one designer to another, thanks for your praise, because it took a lot of work to get this they way I wanted it.

@trish: yah, i've been so sick of seeing div overlays it indirectly made me stop designing lol.

i hated it with xanga, i hated it with myspace, and i'll continue to hate it. there are some very rare cases where the div is actually well designed and well-coded, but most times it's just one big f**king layer overlapping the actual framework, which to me, is not a good design.

i like the navigation on this one, and obviously i like the simplicity. the banner, though not something i'd particularly go for, is soothing on the eyes, and i do like the color combination. gj.

Yeah, I'm planning to change my myspace soo... it's not going to be so much of a default, it's still technically going to be a div but I need to water it down so it's just... simple... These days when I look at sites, I hate being suffocated with the design.
