Do any of your colleges have a band/concert of sorts to celebrate the end of school? We have a free concert on the last day of classes here (Ithaca). Last year it was Motion City Soundtrack sick.gif , the year before it was Mae etc. Cornell had Snoop Dogg once, I am so jealous.

This year we have Say Anything and JEDI MIND TRICKS (!!!!!)

Anyway, do you guys have something similar?

I'm not in college, but my high school has an end of the year concert with local bands and kids who go to school that are in bands. It's Rock for Hunger and they raise money for local shelters. shrug.gif

MCS?! omg, i love motion city. so awesome. i saw them in concert and it made me love them more, lol. i wish my school could afford inviting people there, lol. we don't really get anything from our school. just the regular: senior picnic, senior breakfast, grad nite, prom, and graduation. and we have to pay for those.

Lucky, your school gets Jedi Mind Tricks, all my High School does is this thing called "Springfest" you just do a regular day, early release, there's stuff to do all over the school(Skate, Guitar Hero, Etc.) And local bands play.

Man, our school would never be able to get any cool bands like that. We have to play at our own concerts. How depressing. sad.gif

I don't think we do, but I don't know when we would anyway. Last day of classes maybe, but it definitely couldn't be during finals, becuase it'd be unacceptable amounts of noise, and a lot of people would have to go home by then. But whatever, we have concerts like that occasionally and I never go to them.

I don't know about end-of-the-year concerts but Boston University has Agganis Arena that hosts a lot of concerts.

We got the Jonas Brothers once. Our area was flooded with sluttily dressed 13-year-olds.

You're not making me excited to go there next year with that kind of talk.

^REALLY? You're going to BU?

If you're going for SMG or Premed, I would have one big cry/mental breakdown right before school to get it out of the way.

The Premed classes are killer.

One of my second term Intro Chem exams had an average of 44. 500+ people took it. Only 6 got above 80. Only 36 got above 70.

GGowned. Grade deflation.

But, Boston University is... yay! Where are you dorming?

haha, good old jonas.
I liked when they weren't on Disney, but whatever.
My student exchange program is doing a concert with The Mystery Tramps and Any Other Word.
should be fun (:
specially since I'm friends with both bands haha

My idea of "concerts" when I saw this thread was so different from what yours is obviously, LOL.

I was gonna say "we have free recitals that are open to the public all the time, in fact I play in some of them! sometimes we have guest artists, sometimes the faculty performs."

But no, I don't really go to any of the.. other kind of concerts around here. Usually the bands suck. xD

hahahaha

I was in two of Dani's kind of concert this semester. Nothing special. And I didn't like any of the music but Candide.
