What is Pokemon? I've seen some things on TV about it. There's a yellow thingy and the characters have weird faces.

shrug.gif

I'm guessing it's a cartoon but there's a pokemon game? Erm??

OMG! I remember when I used to play them on my gameboy color, used to collect the trading cards, watch the cartoon, & battle people with mine...

Ha, that's how I was with Yu-Gi-Oh! =.= I'm sort of ashamed, now.

lol I still have all of my cards, way over a 1,000 of them. I wish they were actually worth something so I could get rid of them. I still have all my pokemon games too. I just found my pokemon yellow for my gameboy color the other day.

I have 300+ of those damn pogeymanz cards.

i used to watch the show everydayyyy and i still have my pokemon card collection back from like 5th grade. i love my cards. lol. and i know i have all the cards for the pokemon that have 3 upgrades/transformations. i also remember beating the first first first pokemon gameboy game before my brother, it was a big accomplishment for me. laugh.gif

i really don't like the new pokemon though. :\
the classic/150/151 pokemon were the best.

Chrissy - Oh man, I still haven't beat the 6th or 7th gym. I haven't touch my DS since last May or June. lul I should get back on that!

lol I'm on victory road right now and it sucks. You gotta fight a wild pokemon like every two steps - I need to buy repel! haha

I used to have cards too but I didn't really play with them I just collected them. I'm sure they're somewhere at home collecting dust.

You need to go and get the original versions first. A.K.A Red, Blue, and Yellow. The new versions are lame.

^Word!!

I love Pokemon! :D I used to collect all the cards, buy all the games, and I even bought two GBC's/GBA's to trade with myself so I had all the pokemon. I taped all the shows and most of my attire back in 4th/5th grade was... well, pokemon. xD I was crazed, and proud. cool.gif

I'm guessing Anime isn't a big thing in Belgium either since you said weird faces.

Hmmm, Pokemon first started out as a game for the Gameboy, then it turned into a television show for kids. I remember I got my first Gameboy and Pokemon blue when I was in 6th grade. I was so happy! Well anywho.

There's two purposes in the game, or in the show. You can either be a master by capturing all 151 (original) or 493 (current) Pokemon. Or you can train the ones that you've captured to become stronger. It depends on your goals. Although mostly in order to accomplish all tasks it's good to have multiple numbers of Pokemon.

You can carry 6 Pokemon at a time. By battling other Pokemon with yours you gain experience and level up making your Pokemon stronger. By leveling up you gain different techniques which aid you in becoming a Pokemon master. You can set different types of techniques and develop better strategy to defeat your opponents. Once a Pokemon reaches a certain level, it can evolve into an even powerful form. Aside from just battling other opponents in the game, you can link up with your buddy and battle them as well. This is where the real world tournaments come into play. (I play Pokemon on a professional level)

Personally I love Pokemon and to this day is one of my longest surviving hobbies, however I don't like the idea behind it since it promotes animal cruelties in ways (cockfighting, etc.)

My current team

Porygon-Z
Infernape
Gallade
Garchomp
Weaville
Jolteon

My secondary team

Heracross
Starmie
Sceptile
Skarmory
Tyranitar
Salamence

Anime isn't big but it's there. I LOOOVE mangas but they're books. They look weird on TV. I only watch Nana on TV. Actually, I've only watched it twice. shrug.gif

To be honest, it's really hard to get into Pokemon now that there's almost 400 episodes over 1,000 techniques, etc. But you can start if you wanted to.

So this is how an episode goes:

-Ash and friends find a new person.
-Team rocket tries to steal new person's pokemon.
-Team rocket blows up into a star.

If you see one episode, you've seen em all. thumbsup.gif
