okay so i bought this prom dress.
this is my dress.
except it's in "steel" (the third color; it's a shade of purple)

link here

& it fits well. except for the fact that from the back, i have like pockets of fat hanging out from where it goes around my arm. i hope i make sense. here are pictures of what i mean & want to tone:

& i was wondering what exercising techniques i can use to tone down that fat. i do exercise. i run about 2-2 1/2 miles almost everyday in 30 minutes & then come home to do some weights & work on my abs. my prom is may 22 so i have a little over a month. any tips, girls?
thanks.

Prom is in like in a month I suppose? No way will you work off all that fat from your back. It's hard enough getting rid of fat from other main areas such as your stomach, or thighs. You're talking about your back here. Plus, you have EXCESSIVE fat, and I think it's too much to lose it in such a short period of time. Running isn't going to help much, since most of the fat lost by running is from your breast, buttocks, and thighs. Sorry.

My solution : LIPOSUCTION

swimming.
You'll be moving your arms much. You're targetting at that area on your back naturally.

You cannot spot reduce and select which area you want to "define" by doing a certain exercise.

Edit: !@#$, I need to check which section a topic is in the next time I click the thread from the main forum. Well, technically, we start off as females until the needed chromosome is added, so I'm safe.

okay first of all i do not have "excessive fat."
& second of all, running does help because i have lost weight. friends & family keep commenting on how i've lost weight & look good. that encourages me to keep on running & make better choices as far as food.
& third, you don't even know me so please don't judge or make assumptions about me. i don't judge you. so if you're going to help me, post away. if not, please don't post.

I thought I did helped you. I'm just judging and assuming from your pictures I see. And that's good that you're losing weight. But like I said, the weight lost is usually from your breasts, buttocks, and thighs. Back fat is pretty hard to lose, unless you excersise for a long term basis. You can't lost it in just a month time for Prom. Sorry. And that's why my suggestion was Liposuction, cuz that seems to be the quickest fix answer. _unsure.gif But I guess since you said running does help, I guess you have the answer to your question? whistling.gif

i have been exercising for a long time; ever since late july of last year. yes i do want a "quick fix answer" but not to the extreme where i have to go to a doctor. i have lost weight from my back but i wanted to know certain techniques as to help tone my back.

& i'm sorry if i came off bitchy to you, tung. it's just that i am human & have feelings. when people make fun of my weight i do get really offended. i'm sorry. flowers.gif

Yeah, it's understandable Manny. Well I guess, you could always try the ball technique where you lay on that big rubber bouncy ball, and lay on your back on it, and try stretching. That's the only exercises I know that works out your back.

In terms of toning up your abdominal section and removing fat from your back, this just simply comes down to really fine tuning your diet and eliminating all the excess and empty calories from your daily intake.

I would recommend a general "clean" diet to adhere to. I would focus on lean protein sources (chicken breast, turkey breast, egg whites) and non-white starchy carbs such as brown rice, whole wheat pasta and boiled red potatoes. If you can eat these starchy carbs and keep your body fat down, then enjoy them!

Along with a very clean diet and proper cardio, you also want to directly hit your abs with different exercises. here are some to try out.

Balls add momentum, hyperextensions don't work the abs, and humping the floor won't burn anything except your time.

"Tone" actually doesn't mean what most think it does, either. The term "muscle tone", or tonus, describes an electrophysiological phenomenon: the measure of ionic flow across muscle cell membranes.

"Humping the floor" I think actually might burn calories. I've tried it before, and my back was all sweaty from it. I'm sure it works. ^_^

Yes, just thinking burns calories also. But I guess there's certain things you do that burns more calories than the other. whistling.gif

Indeed, and to that, humping the floor belongs on the failure pile, right next to communism.
