depends on what kind of dinner. if it's a nice dinner, and they tell me it's a date, then yeah, it'll be a date. but if it's some crap mcdonalds shit, then it'll never be a date.

^ damn I must be hella cheap if I think that if I guy ever said "I'll take you on a date to McDonalds" and did it, I'd think it would be cute....

i see your point, since a lot of my very expensive dates have been with friends, and i've had some crappy cheap ones with suitors.

but still... mcdonald's on a date date? that's just tacky.

^ does the place really matter that much? For me it's more about who I'm spending the time with, if it's a date at 2am and the only place open is McDonalds, I'm all for it. If it's 6 pm and the guy wants to take me to McDonalds and does it in the most endearing way possible, I'm still for it. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that every single date I have with someone can be at McDonalds, I'm just saying that if done sparingly, can be a fresh of breath air, and honestly I just don't mind.

^ hey i don't mind going to mcdonald's with my bf or friends. but on a real date?

first of all, if you're on a date with someone you barely know, yet who's interested in you, i'm pretty sure that person would at least try to impress you, thus taking you somewhere a little more special. i mean come on, even a home-made dinner is classier than going to a fast food restaurant.

datin for relationship is a lil more serious. You're kinda supposed to express yourself honestly. Such as takin them to "your" favorite restaraunt. Or goin to one of their own favorites. Fast food is cheesy, but if the girl said well... lets make the date for tomorrow at 8pm to eat at mcdonalds (just typin and readin that sounds cheap and cheesy).

I dunno it could all be cliche... we're just givin our opinions on what is socially acceptable as a legitimate date.

bums in brazil use sea water and cardboard to make card board soup. apparently they're too stupid to realize there's an abundance of resources (vegetation) that they could make soup with, but that's besides the point.

^ says the person who was the one to continue the talk about cardboard soup.

seriously now, tung.

as far as the topic goes, I still stand by the fact that sometimes as a matter of "switching it up" or whatnot, locations of date dinners can vary

If I was going on a "date" date, I'd want to go to a restaurant, not some fast food place. That's just a normal fast food run for me, not a typical date. If the bill is not above $20, I wouldn't count it as a real date. I'd like to be treated to something as nice as possible for a date date -- I'm too much to handle for cheap guys. =x Don't get me wrong, I'm with doiink -- going to fast food places doesn't bother me at all. I just wouldn't count it as a "real" date.

Now, if I were to go on a date with someone who took me for a movie and a dinner at a nice restaurant, wouldn't that be muuuch more romantic than McDonalds?<3

to me dinner and a movie means hanging out... depending on who is asking. if its my boyfriend then it's a date. if it's one of my guy friends then its hanging out. then again i have some "friends" who like to confuse things and use the word date. so.. it really depends on who is asking me.
