School is a positive establishment. Imagine not knowing about your past, or how to add, or any of that essential crap. Most people don't like it when they do it, but when they get out of it, I've noticed that people wish they were still there.

Wrong! I took a lot of honors and AP classes, and still didn't spend over an hour a day on homework. I finished them so easily. I dunno. I was just naturally smart or a sucess in Highschool. Highschool was so easy. My freshman year in college was harder than 4 years of highschool combined.
3.0 is straight B's.

Most internships and jobs want people with a high GPA to rule out the people like you, who "just don't care." Having a high GPA tells people that you study and try, and if you don't, then you're naturally gifted and intelligent. You can't just crawl out of your mother's womb and expect everything to be handed to you. There are plenty of people who don't finish high school or don't go to college and still find a way to support themselves - but it's still a lot of hard work, work which would be better put into directing it towards higher education.

Unless you want to work at a 9-5 job that makes you someone else's bitch, I'd suggest you stop complaining, care a little bit more, and try a little harder in school.

Lol exactly. I don't think I ever tried in Highschool, and I still got a 3.7 GPA. If you get under a 3.0, you're just dumb.

I never spent more than one hour a night throughout my 4 years of highschool on homework in a day. It was school 9am-3pm. Go home. Eat. Shower. Do homework for 30 minutes. Done. Go play video games, hang out. I never once really tried.

In college you just have to study a bit more & then it's easy if you're passing your exams because that's all that usually counts...if you make things hard on yourself then it will be. You have to utilize your resources; sometimes your peers can teach you better than the actual teacher. If you don't know something dont front. Everyone needs an education. Don't get mad & say school sucks just because you're being lazy & not applying yourself. If you're saying it's hard to get a 3.0 then you HAVE TO STUDY & put in more work, you won't have it easy like some people. School is important because if you have knowledge then you have power, yea, money's good & can give you power too, but with knowledge you can manipulate idiots or keep yourself from being taken advantage of in life. No one can ever take what you know away from you unless you get alzheimer's disease or something. Yes, the way you further your education might not be the same or suit everyone, but no matter what you do in life, you're going to have to learn or be trained. So learning is something that never ends as long as you're alive. You learn everyday just from your surroundings and interactions with others.

You got lucky, Tung. I had a lot of busywork, sure, but it still added up. Not because I wasn't smart enough the work, just because it was time consuming. I don't think anyone who took IB and a lot of AP could say any differently...and Georgia's schools are supposed to suck a lot

Yea I attend GA State right now and it all depends on your class...all of my professors give maybe 2-4 tests & the final & that's it; classes are usually too big to grade research papers & everything...I haven't done a huge paper since World Lit, everything after that has been pretty small, like 2-5 pgs.

It's less of a "what type of school you go to" and more of a "what classes are you taking" issue. My chem and psych classes are weighted mostly in the midterm and final exams whereas my humanities classes are more research and papers.

Why is this in writing? It seems more like a debate about education.

And as for everyone in this thread who is telling each other "you're wrong" - Every school is different in their curriculum and standards. Some teachers teach. Some teachers don't. Some teachers expect you to do a lot of home work. Some times that home work is easy. Other times the homework is f**king hard - and arguably a waste of time.

My point is, you can't expect two schools to be alike in their standards of education.
