As a child, I was convinced nothing because it didn't make me hyper. Now it just makes me decently awake and alert. I cannot feel thoroughly awake without it, because I'm really bad with mornings...but I concede that I'm massively addicted too. I get withdrawal headaches, LOL.

Today I had to wake up at 6 after getting in at one and laying in bed unable to fall asleep for at least an hour...so I've had two bottled frappuccinos and a grande triple shot latte. Otherwise I probably could not have made it home and back without dying.

I don't see any difference unless consumed in a large amount, ie a Monster Tall Boy. I rarely have those but when I do I have them in the morning along with an empty stomach so I get all jittery. But if it were a regular cup of joe, or any java for that matter, I don't feel any more alert than I already was.

Caffeine doesn't seem to work on me. I drink it some mornings when I really feel like a zombie and I don't get any less sleepy. :/

Nothing whatsoever. The only caffeinated drink that affects me at all is Nuspeed. Google it.

QUOTE("Nuspeed warning section")

Not recommended for anyone under the age of 18, pregnant women or individuals with heart problems, high blood pressure, or sensitivity to caffeine. Do not use if you are taking prescription, over-the-counter (OTC) or any other drugs. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

I'm completely addicted to caffeine. Unfortunately theres the tolerance thing, so I'm spending an assload more on caffeinated drinks.

Caffeine makes me...do nothing. It doesn't keep me awake nor does it keep me from sleeping...weird. I know a guy, though...whenever he eats coffee jello from a particular restaurant, he goes completely loopy. Yeah, he becomes all dazed and starts crashing into poles and the like. It's kind of hilarious.

My boyfriend's music teacher has ridic high blood pressure. So on nights he's having trouble sleeping, he just drinks a bit of coffee and the caffeine kicks his high blood pressure even higher and he like passes out within a few minutes.

Both me and my bf were like, "That cannot be healthy."

^Well, aspirin thins blood. I guess thinner blood decreases blood pressure. I never really thought of the blood thinning and pressure connection.

I think his teacher does take medicine but even then, his pressure is high enough that caffeine overloads the pressure. I guess that's why some people feel sleepy? They have high blood pressure?

Yeah high blood pressure just means that the arteries are clogged and the PSI is really high because the blood is trying to force itself through those clogged arteries. So thinning the blood is a temp. cure until the person changes his diet and gets healthier.

And yes, high blood pressure causes sleepiness/tiredness because the heart is working overtime tryin to push the blood. So when the heart acts hard... your body overall feels like it just ran for 10 miles straight.

Btw, true fact: If you drink coffee, then take a 20 minute nap, you'll wake up feeling extra peppy. That's because caffeine takes 20 mins to kick in while a 20 min nap is a power nap!

I usually stay away from it, but when I do have it, it doesn't really do much to me... but than again I'm not consuming huge amounts of it.
