Hey guys. I recently got CS3 and wanted to test it out. I haven't retouched in a while, so I thought I would start up again since CS3 is much easier to retouch with than CS2. I didn't really do much to this picture, but I just removed most of the freckles (purposely left a bit so that it would look more realistic) on her legs and her face. Tell me what you think. :). Critique please.

Sorry that I didn't know how to do those fancy rollovers that everyone else does for their retouches. wink.gif

Well, it definitely looks a lot better since removing all her freckles made a dramatic change (:

her face looks a bit plastic.

The colors were a lot better. The first one looked frickin dry and nasty and it made her hair look like hay x_o.
You made her look a lot more like clean and sleek.
Nice job :D

Haha, thanks. :D. I didn't think her face looked that plastic. :x. I tried to bring some texture from the original image so it wouldn't look as fake, but good thing its just a bit and not a lot. ^_^. Thanks for the critique and the comments!

The retouching that you did isn't extreme, but simplicity is good. I don't like it when a photo is retouched too much to the point that it looks unnatural. This is pretty good for your first retouch in a while, Vin. C:

anywho, i think the area around the lips look a bit plasticy because you kinda removed the laugh line. even thought there wasnt much laugh line to begin with =X lol, idk.

and yea, the color is definitely much better.

Most of the time, I hate freckles, they can be a &*@#% to remove. I would have removed more from her forehead but nice job. Her brows are bit unruly and I hate dark brows on really blonde hair but that's just me. I really like what you did with her lips. Nice job overall!

I'll post the code later for a rollover. It's about the only code I know. laugh.gif

Thanks. And to be honest (And to everyone's surprise), I didn't do anything to her lips. LOL. Does it look different? haha.

And thanks to everyone who gave me feedback. _smile.gif I'm definitely going to take that and fix up some more pictures. xD. And once again, thanks for all the critiques! They'll really help me out with future retouches.

i like it. but but the eyes are really dark. it would've looked awesome if they were a bit lighter. thumbsup.gif

I agree with this one. ^
That's my only complaint about it.
Everything else is great.
She looks SO much better in your retouch.
You did a great job erasing the freckles. =]

I love it! I like the fact that you made it darker. To me it made a difference. She looks so innocent in this picture.

Thanks Cassie throb.gif It means so much coming from you :).

SkeleBoy: Thanks for the critique. Her eyes were pretty dark already, so I thought I'd darken her skin a bit and enhance it. Thanks for giving me that tip, I'll remember it. :).

Thanks guys for all the helpful critiques and comments you guys gave me. :D.

LOL MandiLynne.

I think freckles can look nice, it really depends on the subject and lighting/makeup. For this picture, I don't like the freckles because they look blotchy. Her skin is that fake orangy tone and the freckles make it look worse.

The freckles are subdued, not gone from her arms and I think the subdued version looks better. She still has freckles on her face too. I would have lightened her brows. Her hair looks brassier in the retouched version, I would have changed the blonde completely but she looks better in the retouched picture, good job!

The original picture was retouched, her skin already has a plastic look to it on her face, especially the nose and cheek and that was done by a pro.
