Have you ever been at this point where you really want to do a project but have NO idea what to do? I've been like that for the past few MONTHS. I would find an assortment of stuff to use and open photoshop. I'll do a quick blend or colourization and then close the program w/o saving. Then, I'll do that entire thing again.

Nothing turns out right. I'm in a HUGE block. I'm an amateur so it's not like whipping something good up is second nature. I have to think. *taps side of head*

What do you do to get out of a slump? What usually brings about the slump?

Oh man, I just got over this yesterday, the thing that always stumps me is that I can never find the right images to work with. But what I did yesterday was open up Photoshop, and iTunes, listen to some Atmosphere, and some ideas came.

All I have to inspire me are words.

Which aren't the most helpful when it comes to scrounging for photos.

oh man, i do this so much sometimes.
to be honest i search through websites to gain some inspiration.
not to copy ideas, just to be sparked by the colours and composition.
or i find a really good set of images and see where it takes me.
normally..i dont get very far.
sometimes ideas dnt come and it means it isnt time to continue designing.
hate eot say it but tis true ohmy.gif

YES! I got inspiration. =D I'm really happy how everything is turning out. Hopefully, the artist will get back to me and let me use the photograph.

i usually make sketches of what i want to design. that usually motivates me to start working on something. if that fails, i look through magazines, movie posters, random websites, album covers, & childrens' storybooks for inspiration. good music helps get the creative juices flowing, too.

i tried to do that before too but it is not the best idea. the best ideas come from yourself. i frequently get inspiration from other sites still but the end result is only another mirrored cliche. it's really hard sometimes if you're struggling with block but then again everyone has their own ways of gaining inspiration.

Oh, I forgot the sketching part too, I can't believe I kept this though.

this happens to me a lot. lol.
i always have photoshop as a tab just in case i happen to come up with something in my head and i don't want to lose it because that happens a lot. and i hate it.
especially in when its a really creative idea. _dry.gif
