I'm wondering if anyone knows how to create a link to a site that is outside of myspace. I am trying to link my myspace page to my imeem page and it just is not working. I created a div layout and everything else is working ok, but when I try to link the two for some reason it takes me to another myspace page or I get a message telling me that my link has been disabled. I have tried every suggestion I know how even taken the model from the links to my blog, pictures, message, etc., but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Myspace usually will change them to those stupid msplinks. If you're URL in your code is right (post it here if you're unsure) it should work, even though the msplink comes up.

what's the link?

Here is the link to my imeem site: http://heavenzsapphire3578.imeem.com/

and here is the link to my myspace page: myspace.com/heavenzsapphire

I don't understand what the problem is, but I am missing something. Here is the code:

(style tags)

.side5 {
background-color:transparent;
background-image: url(http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj280/Sapphire3578/Showcaseanimated.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment: fixed;
background-position: center center;
position: absolute;
left: 50%;
margin-left: -430px;
top: 1160px;
height: 140px;
width: 515px;
border:3px inset F3F3F3;
overflow: auto;
z-index: 1;
}

(div class tags)

<div class="side5"><center><br>
<a
href=http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vaGVhdmVuenNhcHBoaXJlMzU3OC5pbWVlbS5jb20v><font
color="CBAB62"><font size="3"><font face="times new roman"><span style="filter:Shadow(color=grey,strength=5);height:3px">Sapphire's Image Gallery</span></font></a></font><center><font
color="FFFFFF"><b><font size="4"><font face="times new roman"><span style="filter:Shadow(color=grey,strength=5);height:3px;"><br>
</span></font></a><br></b></center></font>

</div>

I don't know what else to do.

I noticed that. Why does myspace do that? It is very annoying...(sigh) been working at this for a few hours now, need to take a break. I posted the codes in the other response. Thank you all for your help.

MySpace started converting all non-MySpace links into msplinks in case a dangerous link was posted (such as a phishing one). If that happened, MySpace could disable the link and keep all MySpacers safe.

It's simply a myspace security issue. Myspace has actually blocked many outside sites because of legal matters.

The only alternative I can think of is to just copy and paste your site's URL on your myspace, without making it a hyperlink.

or you can put it in a textarea.

<textarea rows="2" cols="20">LINK</textarea>

adjust the #'s to what ever you want.
