This is the sign up thread for this contest.

If you are interested in participating, please post here with an example of some previous work.

If you are interested in being a judge, please contact me via PM.

Please understand that web AND graphic skills will be used in this contest, and models will be required of most, if not all, challenges. You can either render a 3d model of your design, or you can produce a real life model. (Search deviantart for examples.)

This contest will require you to be extremely resourceful. You will need to find or make your own dielines, acquire your own webspace, and pretty much learn/train yourself during these challenges, as a lot of the skills needed for these challenges are usually taught at a college level.

Deadline for sign-ups is March 8th.

8 contestants will be chosen, based on their previous work.

the contest itself will take place in the designer's cafe but i chose to put the sign-ups here to get more attention.

no, like if you are doing a package design, then i want to see the template in 2d and then an actual model of the package in 3d or real life. so you could do a 3d model in photoshop OR you can actually print it out and create the package itself.

For our model, can we use a existing product or we create/draw our own? Can it be a design?

it can be an existing product, but you must design the graphics yourself. for instance, you can take a bare wine bottle and just print out your design and wrap it around the base.

I actually want to do this, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time nor the experience to create some professional, business corporate-ish website.

o darn, just when i thought i'd be the one having all the fun. ;P it's just as well though 'cause i was about to edit my above response with "depending on if i have the time to participate" 'cause at this point that's something i can't guarantee.

so i guess i'll sign off and be a judge. woot.

So who all is particpating, who are judges (because I wanted to be one)

Hmm, maybe we should move this to the resource center to see if it gets any other interest, maybe there are some people that are just only active throughout the resource center then here.

You don't have to guess. You could just read through the thread and figure it out for yourself.
