That's the beauty of the pen tool. When you select the Pen Tool, there are three buttons at the top. Pick the middle button, and start drawing your path. Before that, though, go to your Brush Tool and pick a soft-edged brush around 3px. Then select the Pen Tool again, and then from the drop-down options, click "Stroke Path" and you should have it then.

Try here for specifics: http://www.biorust.com/tutorials/detail/55/en/

Oh, sweet.
Awesome.
Haa.
Thanks. :]

So I found this other tutorial that really helped.
http://www.tutorialman.com/tutorials/makin...ls_with_the_pe/

But I'm confused at the bottom where they use variations.
How do they do the fade brush preset?

Variations means that it's just a different style of brush strokes with which you can experiment. The beauty of it all is that you aren't forced to use one brush. . .you can make it larger than 2-3px, which would make the stroke larger. You can apply layer styles to it, and you can select different brushes to stroke it so that your strokes will achieve the look you want. Fade brush is simply the brush hardness at 0 percent instead of 100 percent.

I say do it on Illustrator, its easier and when you save them as brushes you can make them as big as you want with out making them all pixelated. Since photoshop and Psp your working on pixels your swirls might look like crap if you try and resize them. Idk just a thought.

Advertising? Spam? CB? This shouldn't be happening. We must talk to somebody about this.

In order to seem productive, I will answer. The pen tool is great for everything. Except cloning.
