I usually wait it out and I'll get inspired from something when I least expect it. Sucks when you get it though.

When I need serious inspiration, I pop on over to the good men and women (or rather, the HIGH PROFESSIONALS) at www.conceptart.org/

It works for me everytime- I just try to visualize how they may have some up with something and in the process, I create some pretty new stuff myself.

Take a break and just spend some time looking at truly beautiful designs.

http://csszengarden.com would have to be my favorite place right now. I spend hours there sometimes, just completely awestruck over how amazing some of these are. :)

Take a little break!
Back away from designing for awhile
( awhile as in one or two days )
.. After a couple of days, I can
almost promise you that you'll have tons
of ideas.

Haha, its funny because I
just posted a topic asking
for suggestions. Maybe I should
take my own advice and back off for awhile.

Sit back, turn on some good music, close your eyes and imagine the possibilities. Or just browse the internet. Sometimes it helps to just take a step back instead of trying over and over and not being happy with what you're making.

i always always always always always (x 10000000000) get designer block. that's why all my layouts come out so plain and simple half the time. but usually some song lyrics or pictures help to inspire.

In all fairness, I didn't exactly try to get over the dry spell and I was swamped with school ... BUT 1.5 YEARS. Hahaha.

I'm the same way with guitar. I'll just tap out and do something out for a few days. Draw, walk, play my Djembe, and such, and after the few days, I'm usually right as rain.

Don't force it. Take your time. You can't rush perfection.

Yeah, that's where I got my inspiration for my concepts. Word.
