So I edited one of my tutorials and I decided to use the same picture for my retouch.

Blah. C&C.

Edit:
I've done a bit more with it.

I personally dig the before -- but I agree -- great job on the hair.

I think the skin in the before looked much better already, and in the after, her skin looks burned. She looks a bit more natural though. The hair is definitely much better in the after obviously because of the enhanced color. You should have toned down on the darkening of her skin, just put a little bit more darkening but not too much. Her face's cheekbones are really red and it's a bit abnormal, which is why she looks like she's sunburned. I think you did really great on the hair as well. :). Just fix the cheeks! xD

I think you might be aware of this already, but are you working with high-resolution photos? If this were resized to just fit the boards, that's fine, but I really hope you're working with pictures much, much larger than this, so you can get the exact details.

As people above mentioned, I wouldn't have messed with her skin too much other than smoothing out a few imperfections. I think you did an overall good job on the hair, but it's nothing drastic. Again, I don't know what size of photo you were working with.

What I would've fixed, personally, is move her teeth around so it looks more perfect. I would've brightened her lipgloss and dramatized (I don't know if that's a word) her eye color. You should also become familiar with layer masks. They are useful.

So I edited the picture again and fooled around with it a bit. I changed her skin color a bit and some other stuff.

Omg! YAY! She doesn't look like a burnt chicken anymore :). The skin looks way better, and her hair still looks beautiful as always. I would like to see you edit pictures that have way more flaws in them, and you should definitely challenge yourself. :D. It's pretty good for having photoshop for only a few months or so. Just keep practicing and you'll be good in no time. :)

QUOTE(highwayto4355 @ Mar 8 2008, 08:22 PM) *
i don't see an actual dramatic change except for the color of the hair.
i see you tried to whiten her teeth but i can see an obvious blur in the teeth.

I didnt try to whiten her teeth purposly, it happened when I used the brightness/contrast. And the blur is part of the liquify most likely.

Nice job with the hair, I'll give you that. Try to do more with it. Add make-up or even mess with the colors of the picture. Nice job though.
