So yesterday (well, Thursday evening) I was at work, and I got a campus-wide e-mail informing us that offices would be closed and classes would be canceled today (Friday). Reason? The possibility of snow.

Last time we had bad weather, a student was killed in a car accident on the highway about ten minutes from the school. This was pretty early in the morning, and classes were canceled around 9:30. I guess they decided to act early this time.

I woke up today, and to my disappointment, there was no snow. Discuss.

There was actually a little bit of snow last week, but it didn't stick. There was snow on my car this morning, but none on the ground. I actually drove out to go shopping this evening, so the grounds were clearly not bad enough to cancel school.

Yeah, things in my area are leaning more towards summer and heat, heat, and even more heat. In the end, situations usually turn out like that. I hate it when weather forecasts are totally off, then again, they usually are? blink.gif

Yeah. We got out 2 hours early yesterday because snow was coming

And now there's more than 8 inches on the ground. Weird Cincinnati weather

There's snow EVERYWHERE today. I looked outside this morning and thought to myself, "I thought I moved away from Pittsburgh." I was told when we first moved here that it rarely snows and it's even more rare for it to stick.

Yeah.

Although I have to say that it is quite beautiful outside. The sun is starting to shine on the snow, so it's lovely.

this winter has been crazy...
snow atleast once a week.
Tuesday we got out because this "massive" snow storm followed RIGHT up the highway, so Eugene (where my school is, about 15 minutes drive time) got 6 inches of snow. parts of Jefferson City got the same, parts didn't even see any clouds. we didn't get snow AT ALL Tuesday. i thought it was pretty funny, actually. laugh.gif

oh mannn, if schools here were closed for the possibility of snow, our schools would be closed like every day (but fortunately, no one has been seriously hurt because of the weather)

i live in colorado, so it snows SOOO much! march is our snowiest month and it has already snowed quite a bunch last week..but it's getting nicer =)

oh! we also had almost a week of no school in april in like 2001 because of a massive snowstorm thumbsup.gif

^Lol, I was gonna say something like that too..

But wow, just because of the possibility? Like Teesa said, that's kind of crazy to think of because in Colorado schools would close all the time. Seriously, Colorado weather is bipolar, one day it was 70 degrees, the next it was cold and snowy. This was last weekend. Haha.

it doesn't snow in Florida so we never get to have days off like that. Oh well unless you count the killer hurricanes we get almost every year during hurricane season. ermm.gif

Other than that, nope no snow days.
Its hot as a bitch here today (for the record).

My district canceled school once because of the possibility of snow too, but it just rained. THEN when it actually did snow a couple of weeks later, they had a "delayed opening" where we'd go in at 12:30. Idiots.
